I just finished the Vince-Netflix documentary. Here are some questions I have.
1. Did Vince openly admit that sometimes you have to say what you need to say for business even if you believe something else to be true? It just seemed odd that in something he agreed to do he would openly admit to lying.
He did indeed, and it was bizarre when he said it!
2. Has anyone ever been worse at handling confrontation than Vince? My goodness every public interview he’s done that weren’t softballs he comes across poorly.
There are probably some people worse but he is really, really bad.
3. Bruce Prichard ripping into the doc folks aged like milk. Vince never seemed interested in talking about Vince the person so how is the documentary supposed to go in that direction?
I didn’t hear what Bruce said so I can’t comment.
4. In the Ric Flair doc years ago, HBK said something to the effect of Ric Flair doesn’t know who Richard Fliehr is anymore. It was true of Naitch then, but my goodness it seems more true with Vince. Vince seems to truly have no idea who he is apart from Mr. McMahon. Do you think he’s always been that way or is there a time period where Vince changed?
I think he has been this way the whole time, as did pretty much everyone that they asked in the doc. The only one who didn’t think it was Vince.
Is Joe Tessitore a wrestling fan? I ask because I think he’s already really good. His call of Iyo Sky upsetting Bianca Belair on Raw was incredible. Tessitore made the moment feel like an epic title change and pumped me up! Also, Tessitore freaking out during The Judgment Day’s beatdown of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley - made it seem really dastardly. I am impressed with his work already. How do WWE and your readers feel Tessitore is progressing?
First off, Tess has said he was a fan as a kid so I think it’s fair to say he has been at a fan at least some point in his life. As for his work? He’s been great. He has improved every week out and he already sounds like a seasoned pro. WWE has finally found their guy.
