I had a question in regards to the intergender segments questions you've been receiving. Do you believe this is a purely business choice by WWE and other promotions? The choice to forego intergender matches to be able to keep their more conservative patrons happy and still giving them money? I question this because queer people and people in the LGBTQ+ community, as well as on The Left of the political spectrum, which I'm a part of both the Left and the LGBTQ+ community, wouldn't care about intergender matches given that gender is a construct. Just look Max the Impaler over in NWA. I just wonder if these kind of choices are more about money and appealing to a broader audience then being progressive and trying something innovative.
First off, I don’t stereotype people like that. Not everyone in a group thinks the same way, such as your assertion that gender is a construct. You feel that way but that doesn’t mean other people do. I have ultra-liberal and LGBTQ+ friends that don’t want to see a regular sized man beat up a regular sized woman. Seeing that makes some people uncomfortable and makes them way to change a channel. Honestly, I don’t know anyone that thinks a man wrestling a woman is progressive.
Hogan own the Hulk Hogan name? Just wondering how he was able to use it in WCW?
Yes, he had the rights to the name.
With the rating coming out for AEW Collision going opposite WWE Bad Blood, can we pretty clearly say that much of AEW's audience is not "exclusive" to them? That's a whole lot of "sickos" that changed the channel. The tribalism that exists has reached ridiculous levels, with much of it being perpetuated by TK himself. With a drop like that in viewers, the message should be evident which product fans will pick if forced to make a choice. Thoughts?
You are right on the money, 100 percent. I hear from friends who go to AEW events and there are usually more WWE shirts in the crowd than AEW shirts. The way I see it, there are some AEW only fans and they are the tribalists. They like AEW and AEW only, so they rant against WWE while the rest of the fans largely just wonder who wronged them in their life to make them so soft.
How awesome is Gunther right now? He might be the most well rounded guy on the roster. I NEVER miss a segment of his.
I have loved him going back to NXT UK. He is a stud. I love the guy, he is what pro wrestling is all about.
Taking into account factors such as operating expenses, talent contracts, production costs, and ticket sales, do you project that AEW's new TV deal will make the company profitable?
I have a degree in Business so please keep that in mind when you read this. I have no idea and neither does anyone else guessing from the outside. In addition to us not knowing the terms of the deal, we also don’t know what the actual expense of AEW are. We don’t know what percentage of ownership WBD has. We don’t know if WBD takes a piece of the losses. We don’t know far too much for anyone on the outside to project what their financial situation actually is. Of course, that won’t keep people from doing so.
