Given that AEW is still trending downward, do you think Warner Brothers Discovery has buyers’ remorse on giving them the new TV deal?
While they are definitely trending downward, I can’t say whether WBD is upset or not because I don’t know the terms of the deal that they have with AEW. It could be that there are performance clauses that will pay AEW less if they keep losing viewers the way that they have been losing them. Without knowing the real terms of the deal, I can’t say how WBD feels. AEW does bring them in a solid number so it all comes down to what WBD is paying for it.
Also, do you think that AEW would have gotten more money if Tony Khan had addressed the problems with the company before he did the new deal?
100 percent, without a doubt. It’s easier to sell a strong product as opposed to one that is sliding backward.
Any thoughts on Dave Batista endorsing Kamala Harris and then Undertaker joining Kane to endorse Donald Trump?
Yep, this is America and everyone has a right to support whoever they want to support. Given that this is truly a toss up election, it stands to reason that half of the people will support Harris and the other half will support Trump.
Granted he was still very much a work in progress, but why did WWE give up on Gable Steveson after only a handful or so of televised matches?
My guess is that they didn’t think he was worth the investment that they put into him. Frankly, I didn’t see much in him when I saw him work either. Not every great amateur pro wrestler can become a WWE wrestler.
And why did they knowingly choose to release him at a time that would render him ineligible to compete in the Paris Olympics?
I don’t think that they even considered it and frankly, if he wanted to get ready for the Olympics I would think he would have shared that with WWE and they would have allowed him to, for the publicity alone.
