I laughed at the person who said you don’t have any leftist or liberal friends. Has that person ever seen your twitter account?
Apparently not.
I always see articles in various outlets about Vegas betting odds for wrestling pay-per-views, which I've found to be peculiar. Pro wrestling is predetermined: it's not a legitimate athletic competition like the Super Bowl, and its outcome isn't determined by a huge voting bloc like the Oscars. It's determined, sometimes at the last minute, by bookers and writers. Since wrestling is staged, couldn't people working behind the scenes at WWE or AEW use this to their advantage and enrich themselves through bookies quite easily?
If they were so inclined, I see no reason why they couldn't, especially via a proxy.
I ask this with the caveat that both AEW and ROH are shit and that the ROH title means very little these days. Nonetheless, how is it that anyone can justify putting the ROH title on an obviously aging Jericho who has not been over in three years? There are dozens of younger wrestlers circling the proverbial toilet bowl in both AEW & ROH that could use the rub of having that title, even if it's a shadow of what it was 10-15 years ago. Wasn't that one of Jericho's chief complaints about WCW circa 1999 when Hogan & company were holding back younger talents? Is it because Tony likes to think the guy he is paying millions is his Best Bud (I LOVE WRESTLING!!!!!) and wants to reward him for this? Or is it because Jericho is a shameless, doughy, egomaniac that likes to think he is still relevant? My guess is it's both, but I'd like to hear your take on it.
As an Elite, I am sure you heard how much I hated Jericho glomming yet another Title from someone who was better suited to carry it on Thursday’s show with Mike Johnson. Yep, Jericho railed against the old guys holding back the young talent in WCW and sure seems like he learned their playbook for his time as the old man in AEW. I wish Jericho would just go away, for at least a while. He is hard to sit though. When his song plays, “What have I become,” the answer is everything that you used to hate Chris.
Unlike the NXT Women's Division where each woman has a unique look and multi-layered character, most of the NXT Men's Division are pretty much homogeneous with either one of two characters (the generic high-flying babyface or the intimidating bearded heel) with the likes of Trick Williams, Ethan Page, Joe Gacy, Oba Femi and Cedric Alexander the only ones who manage to stand out of the back). Is it because that Shawn Michaels doesn't care much for the men as he does with the women)?
There are some hacks out there on freak message boards, and one a popular podcast, that like to say that I make up the questions that go in this column. If this question doesn’t prove that I don’t, the people who still think that I do it are certifiably nuts.
Is there any heat for Carlito?
I have seen some from what I feel are overly sensitive online fans. Clearly, he knows that Iyo and Kairi are Japanese. I took the comment he made about having to learn Chinese as him poking fun at his character. Anyone offended by that really needs to take a deep breath.
