LOOKING AT NXT BEATING AEW ON ITS OWN NIGHT

Were you shocked that NXT went on Wednesday night and beat AEW?

I was in no way shocked and I can’t even say I was surprised. I said to Mike Johnson on the show on Thursday that AEW had better hold serve and win the evening since NXT was coming to their home so to speak. I wasn’t sure what would happen but I had a feeling that AEW would lose.  To me, and I am guessing a lot of people, it’s a stale, repetitive product that is no longer must see.  If you miss this week’s show, it’s easy to catch up on storylines, such as they are, and if you tune in for matches, they will have those next week.

Aren’t you glad you didn’t take Mike Johnson’s dollar bet this week?

I am. I will eventually lose a bet to him again but I hold the almighty dollar prize now and I want to keep it.

Remember when Tony Khan would brag about beating WWE developmental?

I do indeed. He had a right to be happy that he was winning back then but some of the things he said and did make people happy to see what happened this week. He put a bullseye on himself with his comments and actions.

And do you also remember that when AEW was beating NXT, NXT had a lot of top tier talents and now it’s really younger, up and coming talents that beat AEW’s A List this week?

To me, that is the most telling thing about what happened. AEW had top talents on their A show, on their night, going against WWE’s C show on a different night, and they lost handily.  There is no positive spin than anyone can put on it unless….

I see that the usual excuse makers are saying that AEW lost to NXT because of the ECW nostalgia. Is there anything that the shills won’t do to protect AEW?

I am sure there is something, like I don’t think they would kill someone for Tony Khan.  But, kill their own credibility?  That is something that they have no problem doing, and have already done.
