Former United States President Jimmy Carter passed away today at the age of 100. Carter had been in hospice care for some time. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for advancing human rights in 2002.
While this is a miniscule part of his legacy, when Carter was the Governor of Georgia, it became well known that he was a fan of professional wrestling, especially the late Mr. Wrestling II, Johnny Walker, who was a massive star in that territory's era.
Carter's mother was also a major fan of Walker.
The family's love of Mr. Wrestling II was so great that when Carter was elected President, Walker was invited to the inaguration proceedings. In something that would never happen today, Walker declined to attend as the United States Secret Service would not allow him to appear under his mask, so he chose protecting kayfabe and his identity over attending.
