Having a beachfront villa is something that a lot of people dream about, and for a couple from Los Angeles, Rebecca and David, that dream came true when they bought a villa in Alanya, Turkey which became a part of their lifestyle that was full of culture, sunshine, and relaxation. For them it was far more than just buying a property, it was about expanding their perspectives. This is their story of purchasing the villa in Alanya for sale: the hurdles they had to cross and how it impacted their life.
It was five years ago when the couple took a cruise around the Mediterranean and made their first ever visit to Alanya. Alanya had everything that the couple could imagine and they were immediately attracted to it, “It felt like a hidden gem,” said Rebecca while speaking on their trip to the location. “We knew we wanted to come back and spend more time here.”
In 2023, after getting used to the hustle and bustle of life, the couple decided it was time to settle down. They planned on moving out of California in search of more laid-back Lifestyles and Alanya, indeed, was the right choice for them.
The couple began looking for real estate options on the internet and stumbled upon a reputable firm specializing in international buyers. This company also manufactured villas assuring them of great quality and contemporary designs.
In this sense, the company was contacted and David and Rebecca were fascinated by their wide professionalism and client-oriented approach. David recalls: “They had an absolute genuine interest in what we are after.” And so, our primary reason for visiting was to find a villa that includes a swimming pool and good distance from other houses, does not require renting and would still be fairly near the city.
Rebecca and David could view some of the villas situated in Alanya in different districts from a distance. In particular, Rebecca and David are more interested in a villa located in the Kargicak region with a beautiful terrace situated near the sea.
Kargicak is a quiet area famous for its lavish villas and apt views and is relatively near to forested mountains. The Hill Top villa that the millers bought is located at a height from which tourists can catch unrestricted views of an open sea in the Mediterranean and is close to the Mountains known as Taurus mountains.
The villa consisted of three bedrooms, a swimming pool, a sizable garden, and wide open and bright interiors. “It is as if it was just constructed for us to enjoy,” says Rebecca.
Acquiring a piece of real property in a foreign country may appear rather intimidating, but Rebecca and David were led every step of the way by the real estate company. They walked them through the legal procedures, assisted in opening a Turkish bank account, and also helped them secure a tax identification number.
The couple also liked the crystal clarity of the process. “There were no hidden costs or surprises," David says while recalling the process. “They even assisted us in negotiating the price with the developer.” In no more than several weeks, the regular paperwork was done and the villa was put in their names.
The move to Alanya was an incredibly new and thrilling adventure that the Millers were about to plunge into. With a justifiable sun-kissed glow on their cheeks, the couple soaked in the Turkish way of life. Their new schedule comprises poolside gatherings, strolls along the beach, and trips to the local market.
The cost of living did not hurt their purses either. “Utilities, groceries, and even eating out are so much cheaper here than at home,” Rebecca explains.
In addition to the delectable Turkish cuisine, the couple began to offer Turkish language classes in order to engage with the larger community that graciously welcomed them. They were delighted by the friendliness and openness of the surrounding people.
