WWE ID BOUT & MORE: 1/30 WRESTLING OPEN 'THE REBOOT' LIVE REPORT FROM WORCESTER, MA

By Adam Cardona on 2025-01-31 08:30:00

Wrestling Open “The Reboot”

1/30/25 Worcester, MA

Welcome back to Electric Haze! We’re live on IWTV, streaming live from the original home of Uncharted Territory! With Beyond’s announcement today of a new second Wrestling Open starting up in Rhode Island, what are we in store for tonight? On the card, we know about the Finals of the Tournament for Tomorrow, a highly anticipated clash for the IWTV top belt and an official WWEID match! Paul Crockett and Brett Ryan Gosselin are on commentary. Let’s go!

Spotlight Match: Brando Lee beats Angel Jacquez with a handspring kick in the corner. Good contest, allowing Brando to quickly show why he was immediately given a spot in the Tournament for Tomorrow a couple of weeks ago. And we’re kicking off with the big title match?!?

Match 1: Marcus Mathers(c) vs Gabriel Skye (for the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship)

Gabe Skye competed on the very first episode of Uncharted Territory in the Discovery Gauntlet. It’s fitting that he kicks off tonight’s broadcast with Mathers’ first title defense. Gabe has everything to prove at he hits Mathers with lots of heavy strikes and kicks. A powerbomb and Spirit Breaker almost puts Marcus away in less than 10. Mathers with a quick bomb to get some room. Skye almost lands a rings of Saturn pin! Destroyer from Marcus! Skye keeps Marcus away from hitting a 450! Spanish Fly from Skye! Double stomp for two! Mathers dodges a frog splash! Cradle suplex! 450 connects! Mathers gets the three and turns away Skye tonight!

RICKY SHANE PAGE IS HERE! He comes out to talk to Marcus Mathers! He says that his birthday show is coming up….RSP’s Death Day! And he wants Mathers on that show. He’s gonna make him fight someone that will show him how to be a champion. How to carry himself as a champion. And at that show? It’s Marcus vs Alex Colon in a 4 corners of pain match?!? That said, RSP clearly has some issue with how Marcus is representing as IWTV champ.

Match 2: Paris Van Dale vs Spike Nishimura

Can Spike finally get a win after a couple weeks of BS keep handing her L after L. Kick after kick into Van Dale. Paris rakes the eyes, making last week’s hairspray attack a factor again. Paris just stands on Spike’s hair and pulls her into pain. Spike trying to fight back but Paris is using every cheap trick she can to keep Nishimura on her back. Spike with a series of clotheslines and a Michanoku driver for two! Paris rakes the eyes once again and rolls up Spike for the three. The BS continues. Boooooooo!

Match 3: Shook Crew (Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando) vs The Kellys (Westfield & Grayson)

Is this happening? It’s been a year since Shook Crew lost the ability to team up at the White Eagle. It’s not the Eagle anymore so I guess they are allowed to be back at it? The Kellys are waiting for their opponents. Bobby Orlando is out here….alone. Uh oh. Is this gonna be a handicap match? The Kellys are VERY happy to be in this situation. Orlando is taking it right to them though. But the numbers game is immediately a problem and Ref Scoot is quickly distracted and Bobby is dropped and subject to a pummeling. The crowd chanting “Where’s my dad?”. Where IS Bryce? At the five minute mark, Donovan blows into the room with his gear bag. Time to tape up. Bobby reaching for the tag but Bryce isn’t “ready”. Bobby finally lands a sick trick cutter and Bryce blind tags in to steal the pin. Bryce walks right out of the building as Bobby screams at him to come back. Donovan turns back to face his partner. “I didn’t need this. You WANTED this.” Yells Bryce. “I can’t play with you anymore. Move on with your life!” Wow. Bryce says he has no time for Shook Crew. He’s coming for the Wrestling Open Championship and he doesn’t want Bobby there for that.

Match 4: Ichiban vs Rain Conway

Rain Conway tried to cash in on Max Caster’s open contract to destroy Ichiban last week. It didn’t work out so well in a blindside….so maybe he thinks he’ll have better luck in a 1-on-1 match? The crowd just jeering Conway to death. I love hearing the “Rain Rain Go Away” song fired at him. He’s going for that mask of Ichiban. Ichiban endures a couple of minutes of pain before he escapes an AA and hits the Ichi Bank for the win in about 4 minutes. And just like that DJ Powers is right out here to attack Ichiban. He wants next, clearly. He tries to put Ichiban to sleep…Ichi with an escape and flying head sending Powers to the back. Ichiban better watch himself.

Match 5: Gal vs Aaron Rourke (WWE ID Official Match)

This is cool to see. Evil Gay Aaron with a butt slap early to throw Gal off his game. Gal with a toss and Aaron lands on his feet. Shotgun into the buckles! Flipping double chop! Gal shoves Rourke out of the corner and just boots him over. Fellow WWE ID prospect Brad Baylor is out here to watch this from ringside. Gal plants Rourke with a German for two. The vain Gal is starting to open his mouth a little too much. Rourke out of the way and kicking at the knees. 619! Rourke with a head scissors take down! Hip attack in the corner! Rourke with a Molly Go Round for two!!!  Brad Baylor providing a quick distraction…Gal hooks Rourke and plants him with a snap DDT for the three! Robbery!

Fancy Ryan Clancy is out here next to “discuss his future as the Wrestling Open Champion”. He thanks Electric Haze for welcoming them into their new home. He’s glad to finally be done with Big Business after last week. So what’s next? Music hits….it’s Ray Jaz? New music? He’s wearing a suit? He’s still Ray Ja and we hate him. Unfortunately, I’m watching live on IWTV and the crowd can’t drown him out nearly enough. Jaz says he did the All American Challenge to find his edge. And he found it. So he says Clancy can pick whoever he wants to face Jaz next week….but Jaz wants a championship shot after he runs through Clancy’s pick. Clancy is more than happy to fight…but he’ll indulge the Jersey Legend and give him a challenge for next week. Next week, it’s Ray Jaz vs Pedro Dones! Can Ray Jaz rekindle his rivalry with Dones next week and come out on top this time?

Rich Palladino is here to announce that the TFT Finals were supposed to happen tonight but Eye Black Jack was unfortunately stricken with illness this week. However, his opponent Julius Draeger is here and also has something to say. Dreager doesn’t care EBJ isn’t here. He should win the tournament by forfeit!  He demands that Rich Palladino announce that….but kick off the music, it’s Brett Mettro! Mettro reminds everyone that he was supposed to be in the TFT but he was injured a couple weeks ago and lost the chance. So hey….why don’t THEY fight now?

Match 6: Julius Draeger vs Brett Mettro

Mettro tosses Draeger at will early but “Ironside” is just fighting back and making Brett fight from underneath. Big spinebuster for two. I love hearing BRG on commentary calling Mettro “the lesser Brett”. Brett with a huge shoulder block bowls Draeger over! The straps are down! Big slams! Vertical face buster! Draeger with a reversal into a pedigree gets the three, giving him the momentum to next week’s hopeful TFT Finals against Eye Black Jack.

Main Event: Swipe Right (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes)(c) vs Jermaine Marbury & Pedro Dones (Anything Goes for the Wrestling Open Tag Team Championships)

Dezmond Cole couldn’t compete tonight so Dones is stepping into his place for this title opportunity. The crowd is happy to chant for WE. At least Swipe Right can’t lose by contour tonight (as they have done for the last several weeks). Swipe Right drops to the floor immediately….since anything goes? The challengers drag them back in and drop stereo ten punches. Marbury caught by Smokes and Swipe Right starts to rolls on Open’s basketball star. Dones with the hot tag and unloads on the champs. Baylor pulls Smokes away from a corner cannonball and Dones is in big trouble. Marbury makes the tag! He dunks on the champs! Ankle breaker juke and a cuter on Baylor for two! Smokes cuts off a splash….Dones sends Smokes to the floor and Baylor eats a doomsday cross body! Smokes pulls Baylor to the rope to save the titles! Brawling out of the ring against the legendary Electric Haze brick wall. Smokes with a curb stomp to Dones into the apron! Marbury trying to go it alone but he gets caught into a Super Swipe slam for the win. The champs retain. Booooooo!

Aaron Rourke is out here to get a piece of Brad Baylor for costing him the win earlier. Smokes gets him out of there before Rourke can hit the split legged moonsault as we go to black.
