GCW ran Indianapolis at Fountain Square on 1/31 with Gringo Loco defeating Calvin Tankman in the main event. JCW Champion Masha Slamovich defeated Myron Reed. The Cogar Brothers, Atticus Cogar & Otis, defeat Joey Janela & Megan Bayne. Janela may have suffered a bicep injury in the match. GCW Tag Team Champions The Gahbage Daddies (Alec Price & Cole Radrick) defeated The Rejects (John Wayne Murdoch & Reed Bentley) and August Matthews & Davey Bang. Former GCW Champion Mance Warner defeated 2 Tuff Tony. Shane Mercer defeated Rachel Armstrong.
The show opened with promo from new GCW Champion Effy came out and said he's heard all the talk and criticism of him, but he has all the validation he needs, the GCW World Championship. He's had it for a week and he's already defended it in France and England. He said tonight was the start of the road to The Collective. He began talking about Effy's Big Gay Brunch but The Rejects, Reed Bentley and John Wayne Murdoch came to the ring. Bentley said that a year ago, he'd have friends but now he has no one so they say it's time to take him out. This set up the Gahbage Daddies coming out and kicked off the three way.
The Tony vs. Warner bout was set up with a promo from Nate Webb, who was teasing he may have to retire before Warner shows up and interrupted. This brought out 2 Tuff Tony. He did the spot where he lit his own hand on fire and then hit a spinning backfist on Mance.
There was an incident after the show where Janela was selling autographs and he was confronted by an independent wrestler named Dylan Bostic, who flipped over Janela's merchandise table. Janela then tossed the table at him and they began fighting. They ended up on the floor fighting before Bostic was removed from the scene by security and several wrestlers, including Tankman. He smartly didn't challenge Tankman.
Janela noted on social media he wasn't going to press charges and explained his side of the situation, writing, "“Gonna nip this in the butt there’s a Video circulating of me getting ambushed at my table while I was meeting fans after the show tonight, it stems from him airing his grievances about his experience doing AEW extra work the day after brodie lee’s death that a lot of us were very upset about. I took to twitter because I thought it was disgusting and we went back and forth. Tonight 4 years later he flipped me and Megan’s gimmick table over, to confront me and we got into a scuffle, which resulted in the GCW crew thinking I was getting attacked by a deranged fan & Megan thinking it was some weird Joey Janela skit. For someone that claims to have boxing training amazingly not one punch landed, and he was eventually carried out like a crying baby by Calvin Tankman. Sorry to all the fans that had to witness that it was an extremely embarrassing situation & sorry to all the Indianapolis crew that wanted to put on a great weekend of independent wrestling for the city. Sorry if I contributed to any of the unneeded drama."
Bostic has not commented publicly.
