2/19 AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2025-02-19 22:25:00

It is Wednesday and AEW Dynamite was live at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Ian Riccaboni, and Taz.

MJF’s music hits and he comes to the ring in a suit with a microphone and we are told MJF and Adam Page cannot touch each other as they are in the ring together. Page comes to the ring in street clothes as well. Both men come out of the “heel” entrance.

MJF talks about the first match in the company in a battle royal for a title shot and he had the match won, but Page screwed him. MJF clawed his way to the top and beat your favorite wrestlers. He then points out he beat Page for the Dynamite Diamond ring in the first match for that ring. He then goes through his resume and he’s better than you and you know it.

Page then asks why MJF is talking to him like he doesn’t know who he is. He says that MJF should be proud, but he sounds angry about his accomplishments. Page says he can’t be happy, because there’s something he can’t win from the fans. MJF yells at him to shut up and he doesn’t care about the fans. MJF says he hates the fans deciding who is redeemable and who isn’t. MJF goes over the terrible things Page has done and then says “But he’s the good guy, right?”

MJF asks Page if he loves himself after the terrible things he has done, including retiring Christopher Daniels. Page gives an impassioned defense of Daniels and praises Daniels for his career. Page asks MJF if his career ended tonight, what would people say about him. Page says the reason people still care about him and it’s because he knows what is right and wrong and tells the truth about it, and has never lied to the fans. He then hopes for a small part of MJF that wonders if what he says is true.

MJF laughs at him and asks if Page is a child and mocks him for caring if someone played dirty or not. He says the company propped Page up and MJF came in and has what he done with wrestling ability and a mic and asks Page to name one thing he does better than MJF.

Page says he is real and drops his mic. MJF says he has no problem being the bad guy. They take off their jackets and security is ready to jump in. MJF spits at Page and Page charges to grab him, but he’s held back by security.

Page attacks security and is stopped by Christopher Daniels.

We get a video package about Grand Slam on Saturday and a reminder it is on MAX.

Renee Paquette is with the Undisputed Kingdom and Roderick Strong says even if Orange Cassidy is friends with Kyle O’Reilly he will destroy him later tonight. Kyle says they are friends, but the Conglomeration is a loose group so he will be fine no matter who wins. Adam Page says Strong will win tonight and that is undisputed.

The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Kip Sabian) w/Mother Wayne vs Opps (Samoa Joe, Hook, and Katsuyori Shibata)

Kip and Shibata start off with arm bars. Kip moves to a slide headlock and then a shoulder tackle that does nothing to Shibata. Shibata gets a knee to the gut and tags in Joe and they chop Kip in the ropes. Joe then trips Kip and hits a senton. Nick gets in the ring and Joe trips him and hits a senton. Cage….does not get in the ring.

Nick is tagged in and Joe chops him down in his corner before tagging in Shibata. After a series of chops, Hook is tagged in to pick up where Shibata left off.  Shibata is tagged back in and runs into a back kick from Cage. Shibata drops Cage and then Kip. He hits a snap suplex on Nick as we go to picture in picture.

When we come back to full screen, Shibata gets a suplex on Kip and Nick and crawls to his corner. Kip stops him. Shibata is able to take down Nick and Kip and gets the hot tag to Hook, who makes sure everyone gets a suplex. Nick is able to get a fisherman’s suplex and it’s time for everyone to take out the last person to come into the ring. The sequence ends with Joe getting a dive onto Cage. Hook gets a rollup for two. Nick is grabbed into the Redrum, and Joe makes sure Cage can’t break it up. Nick has to tap out.

Winners: The Opps

Renee is with Chris Jericho and he is not happy she brings up his loss at Ring of Honor. He could have her thrown out. Without Jericho, there is no AEW and he is being too nice. He then challenged Bandido.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs Big Bill - Street Fight

The brawl immediately goes into the crowd and up the stairs. They then fight back to the ring with Hobbs tossing Bill over the barricade. He drapes Bill on the barricade and Bill nails Hobbs with a sound mixer. Bill grabs a wrench from under the ring and misses when he swings at Hobbs. Hobbs nails Bill with a chair and Bill is able to nail Hobbs with the wrench.

Bill then pulls the steel steps out and slams Hobbs onto the steps as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Bill is setting up a table into the ring and Bryan Keith is helping, and Hobbs is busted open. Hobbs gets into the ring with a trash can to nail Bill. Keith gets into the ring with a chair and Hobbs punches it out of his hand and then power slams him into the table in the corner with one hand. Bill nails Hobbs from behind and they fight on the ramp to the ring.

Hobbs grabs a backpack and nails Bill with it. Hobbs opens it up and pouts out broken bricks. Hobbs lays in blows over and over. Hobbs then slams Bill’s head into the steel steps on the stage. Hobbs then knocks Bill backwards through the barbed wire table at ringside. Bill is trapped in the barbed wire and cannot answer the ten count.

Winner: Powerhouse Hobbs

Renee is with Lance Archer and Brian Cage and they can’t find the Hurt Syndicate, but they can’t be found, but they will be at Collision and calls them out.

Justin Roberts announces that AEW is going to be back in Arizona for Double or Nothing in May.

Toni Storm is on her way to the ring with her title and her butler Luther. She introduced herself and talks about how she took her title back with her small package. She says that Mariah May has been exiled and she plugs the movie Queen of the Ring. If she is to be the best, she has to beat the best.

We then get a hype video for Gabe Kidd.

Renee is with Willow Nightingale and she says the Death Riders interrupted her last week.  Well, they do it again and Marina Shafir beats her down and they head to the ring. Mox reminds everyone he is the champion of the world and everything in AEW is his. He says no one is allowed to lay down a challenge to him and Cape isn’t there tonight.

Mox says if Cope shows up at Revolution, he will finish the job.

Jay White’s music hits and he comes to the stage. Pac comes in behind White. As they close in on him, Cope’s music hits and he comes into the ring from the other side and they attack. Cope pulls out Spike (a two by four covered in nails) and he clears the ring. Cope follows Mox into the crowd.

Cope grabs a mic and says this isn’t his arena, these aren’t you people, they are his. He calls Mox a coward because he needs his goon squad to protect him, and he is going to take them out one by one, and then at Revolution, he will kick Mox’s ass.

In the back, Renee is with Mercedes Mone. She wants no surprises and no puppets. She says Harley Cameron learned there is a price to pay when you mess with Mercedes Mone. We then get an interview with Renee and Momo Watanabe and she is challenging Mercedes Mone. Mone says she needs to show up at Dynamite and challenge her to her face.

Kris Statlander vs Megan Bayne

They start with a staredown and then lock up and go at it into the ropes. Bayne gets the break and then nails Kris. They try shoulder tackles on each other and Bayne is able to knock down Kris, and then gets a kick but misses a senton, and Kris gets a senton and then a standing moonsault for two. They fight in the corner and then miss kicks until Kris is able to get a roundhouse kick.

Bayne is able to get a spear as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, they try to clothesline each other and Bayne gets a big kick. Kris follows with a clothesline and then a slam and a kick to the back of Bayne’s head for two. Bayne gets a big elbow strike and a German suplex. Kris rolls to the apron and Bayne pulls her up and lays in blows. Kris gets a sidewalk slam on the apron and as she is recovering, Bayne gets a back suplex on Kris bringing her into the ring.

Bayne puts Kris on the top and they trade blows. Bayne is knocked down and before Kris can leap, she is shoved off the top by Penelope Ford. Bayne is able to hoist Kris and hits the F5 for the win.

Winner: Megan Bayne

Before the post match beat down can start, Thunder Rosa comes to the ring with a chair to force them to leave.

Renee is with Max Caster and she reminds him he is at 0 and 2 with his open challenges. He blames Page for chasing him around the ring before his matches start. The open challenge continues on Saturday.

Ricochet comes to the ring wearing the Embassy robe and he heels Phoenix. He says he will ignore the people in the arena because they are animals and talk to people directly at home. The booing doesn’t matter because he is a winner. He proved it by beating Swerve Strickland. He puts himself over. He says he came to AEW to wear championships.

Swerve’s music hits and Prince Nana comes to the stage and walks to the ring.

I just want to point out, Ricochet is getting the loudest boos of the night.

Nana says he wasn’t to talk to Ricochet one on one and he told Swerve to stay home. Nana says they have been beefing up and down the road and he doesn’t know what will happen, but Ricochet is wearing something that doesn’t belong to him. He goes over what the robe means. He says anyone who is wearing the robe has honor and he never gave that to Ricochet. Nana asks him to give the robe back.

Ricochet tells him if he wants it, he has to take it. He then mocks Nana and says he’s not getting the robe back.

Callus says Cassidy is nothing but a red-headed hippie, and sics Davis and Takeshita on him. Callus starts attacking Cassidy and Kenny Omega hits the ring for the save.

Davis and Takeshita are able to cut Omega off. Takeshita tries for Raging Fire, but Cassidy turns it into stundog millionaire and Omega knocks Takeshita out of the ring. Omega picks up the International belt and holds it up in the ring.
