IF ROCK TOOK OVER RUNNING WWE, INJURIES AFFECT PEOPLE DIFFERENTLY, MISSED OPPORTUNITY AND MORE

I have seen people say that if Rock wanted to come back and run WWE that he would replace HHH with Brian Gewirtz as the head of creative.  What would you think of that move?

All I know of Gewirtz is what he did under Vince McMahon.  It could very well be that he is super creative and could oversee a great product without Vince there.  I honestly don’t know.  What I do know that HHH already does oversee a great product so personally, I don’t want to see any change there.

If Cody and Rock have been friends for a year, why did Rock do the throat slash to Cody a few months ago?

Well, as he showed on Smackdown last week, Rock is a really, really bad friend.  Seriously, the one part of WWE creative that isn’t consistently great is the stuff that Rock does.  He has creative control and his stuff is definitely hit and miss to me.

Why are Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes back the next week after taking the pile driver from Kevin Owens but Randy Orton is out for months after taking the same move?  How does that make sense?

People can suffer similar injuries and have much different extent of damage. It happens all the time.  Just look at concussions.  Some people heal quickly, others take longer. So yes, it can make sense.

Whilst I believe it was the right call to change the Main Event to Cody vs Roman, I can't help but the Rock vs Roman will remain one of those 'what if' or missed opportunity main events similar to Hogan vs Flair, Rock vs HHH and Punk vs Cena as a truly epic WM Main Event. Are you in the same boat and if so, are there any other missed opportunities like this you can think of?

I am not in the same boat for one big reason: The people didn’t want to see the match!  If they did, WWE would have gone through with it. Would it be nice to see Rock wrestle Roman?  Sure. If, for example, Cody turns down Rock and then Rock turns to Roman, who also turns him down, and they went on to have a match at WrestleMania?  I am fine with that (as long as Roman circles back to Seth Rollins afterward). But to force a match like that when the world wanted to see Cody?  There is no way I think that it should have been done then.  To me, matches are more about the why and how than the dream aspect.

I'm wondering what you make of Road Dogg as the co-lead writer of SmackDown. On one hand, I have the AJ Styles mindset because Vince McMahon dictated a lot. On the other hand, I thought that Nakamura-Miz-LA Knight segment was not good and it felt like a Vince McMahon era segment. I fear we'll get a lot more of that.

Not everything will hit, no matter how good things are going.  I think Dogg has shown an aptitude for the business and remember HHH will have the final say over things like that so I am not worried.
