An unwarranted fan confrontation led officials to replace Jeff Jarrett with Raven who participated in this match-up that became the Slammiversary highlight.
Multiple dramatic high-risk moments took place during the match when Styles and Brown used tables to launch Abyss between them before Waltman hit Styles with an X-Factor off ladder action and Abyss retaliated by slamming Styles onto another table outside the ring. Raven achieved his destiny by winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship after a disorganized match had completed.

The feud intensified when former LAX members Homicide and Hernandez came back to Impact Wrestling to start The OGz as rivals of Konnan. The championship match between LAX and their opponents started at the show after LAX defended their Impact World Tag Team Championships through a dangerous street fight. The LAX team secured victory by having Santana perform his frog splash finisher on Homicide who was positioned on thumbtacks while defending the Impact World Tag Team Championships.
Pentagon JR vs Sami Callihan Slammiversary XVI Match
At Slammiversary XVI Pentagon Jr. alongside Sami Callihan put on a primeval blood-soaked bout which created new history for the prestigious event. During this match viewers witnessed unique and painful sequences including Callihan chopping Pentagon Jr. and both competitors hammering the corners with their fists when their punches went astray which extended the rigor of the bout throughout its entire duration. During the climactic part of the match Pentagon Jr. embedded a spear into Callihan's forehead before using another attack to hammer it deeper.
