WWE will present Elimination Chamber this Saturday on Peacock and Netflix from Toronto, Ontario, Canada with a 7:00 PM Eastern start time for the PPV. Here is our take on what will happen on Saturday.
Women's Elimination Chamber Match (for a title match at Wrestlemania against the winner of Rhea Ripley vs Iyo Sky on Raw): Liv Morgan vs Naomi vs Bianca Belair vs Roxanne Perez vs Alexa Bliss vs Bayley
Dave: Now that they have lost the tag belts, I expect the next level of the Jade Cargill story to happen here. Will it affect the match? TBD. Any of the women could win, for sure. If they wanted to shock the world, they could have Roxanne get the duke. If it's me, I go with the story and have Liv come out on top here and take on Rhea at Mania.
Mike: Given the level of talent in this match, this should be fantastic. So, who wins? My heart says Roxanne Perez, who is more than deserving of a major Wrestlemania opportunity. However, I don't see the company going for it just yet. Liv Morgan makes sense since she and Rhea have so much history and at one point, that was the match slated for Wrestlemania 41 but WWE moved the bout up for the Netflix premiere. To me, the strongest predictions are Alexa Bliss and Bianca Belair. With the possibility of Jade Cargill returning, one has to wonder whether that's where Bianca and Naomi's next storyline lies, which leaves Alexa. Bliss vs. Rhea is an interesting bout. There's always Bayley, who's been great in recent months as well. So, who gets the win? The fact we have so many good choices here is a credit to all involved. I love the idea of Roxanne but I expect it will be Bianca or Liv and I'll give Bianca the nod.
Richard: There are a number of women in this match who appear to have their paths to Wrestlemania set. I think Bayley faces Roxanne at Mania so that takes them out of the equation. If Rhea retains, it adds to keeping Bayley from winning. I think Bianca and Naomi will be neutralized by the potential return of Jade Cargill and the loss on Monday doesn't help their trajectory to a Wrestlemania main event. That leaves us with Liv and Alexa. In terms of giving us a fresh matchup, the logical pick is Alexa because we have seen Liv and Rhea so many times. However, if Liv wants to have two titles, she needs to face Rhea. I would like to see Naomi and Bianca start things off to see if any clues are revealed about the Jade situation. I don't know if I have Bayley eliminate Roxanne or have Roxanne eliminate Bayley to set up Vegas. I say give it to Liv by pinning Bianca and then Naomi.
The Deadline for the Rock's Soul Redemption from Cody Rhodes
Dave: I couldn't care less about this. The only logical thing is Cody says no, which is what a babyface should do. That will probably lead Rock to either back someone in the Chamber or pull a true Tony Khan angle and have himself fight the Chamber winner and take on Cody at Mania. If that happens, oh man.
Mike: The Rock is going to tell Cody he wants to swallow his soul, then Ash from Evil Dead is going to show up, reveal The Rock is a Deadite and shoot him with his Boomstick. Then they'll have a cinematic match in a Cabin in the Woods. A guy can dream!
Richard: I don't care. Just make it less than 10 minutes.
Men's Elimination Chamber Match (winner faces Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania): Seth Rollins vs CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre vs Logan Paul vs John Cena vs Damian Priest
Dave: Rock has totally screwed this up with his soul snatching. I could make the case for any of the six to win. What I would do is have CM Punk get the win and face Cody. During the match I would set up Cena vs. Paul and Drew vs. Priest for Mania. I would also have Roman come out and attack Rollins setting them up for Mania. With Rock involved? Well, someone has to be willing to sell him his soul if he is going to be the Mr. McMahon in this story and it would be stupid to have John Cena do that as no one wants to boo him. That leaves Logan Paul, who I could definitely see being the guy since he has so much clout outside of wrestling and Rock would LOVE to glom onto that.
Mike: I expect John Cena to win here BUT the right call would be Drew McIntyre. Cena's match with Cody has been the plan for some time and I don't think they will deviate from it, even with The Rock stuff. It could be Cena will be the angel to The Rock's devil on Cody's shoulder. There's a lot of great talent in here and I'm looking forward to this. The Chamber leads to a lot of possibilities of what Logan could pull off. Punk and Drew potentially facing off again sounds great, even if WWE seems to want to downplay Drew of late - unless that's by design as a red herring. Priest always works well in heavily physical situations and what could be more physical than this. We know Seth will have a great performance. No matter how much The Rock stuff unfairly overshadows this, I expect this to be absolutely great.
Richard: There is a lot of talent in this match and it is possible that the winner of the match will have an appointment with the man who steals souls like Shang Tsung. Mike has reported some of the rumors for Wrestlemania matches so that would take some people out of the match. If Seth is going to face Roman at Mania, he can't win the match. There has been talk of Priest and Drew in a match so that would take them out of consideration. Punk might be in the match with Seth and Roman, or does he face Logan Paul after their interaction on Monday? If that is the case, that leaves John Cena. Do we want Cena vs Cody? Do we want Dwayne to ask John to be his soulmate? The best match would probably be Punk vs Cody so why not give us what's best for the people who will be in Las Vegas.
Unsanctioned Match: Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
Dave: I expect to see the return of Randy Orton here so that he and KO can dance at WrestleMania. So I will go with Sami gets the win and KO loses it. As he is about to kill Sami for good, Randy returns.
Mike: Man, this should be excellent and made even more fun by the fact that they are in Canada. Does Randy Orton show up and hit a RKO out of nowhere to take Owens out? This should be an incredibly fun brawl around the former Skydome!
Richard: If there were more than four matches announced for this show, I would say that this is going to be an angle to set up a bigger match at Wrestlemania. However, I see it as the first step to get to that match at Mania. Kevin has been outstanding in the build to this match and he might be the best character in WWE at this time. This will be a brawl more than a match. Will Kevin focus on Sami's neck since he said his neck wasn't where he wanted it to be? I think they have to get to a point where, even though it is unsanctioned, they throw out the result because of what they are doing to each other.
Trish Stratus and Tiffany Stratton vs Nia Jax and Candice LeRae
Dave: This is the next step in turning Tiffany full on babyface (which is kind of funny since we are supposed to forget that Trish was a heel last year). This is Canada. This is Trish. The babyfaces have to win here, probably with Candice taking the pin.
Mike: The right thing to do is have Nia beat Trish to set up a Wrestlemania match. Tiffany's future is Charlotte so this should be about setting up Trish's Mania deal.
Richard: I can't see any way that Trish and Tiffany lose, unless Charlotte Flair gets involved. Nia can only say 'you have my title and I am getting it back' so many times before you stop taking it seriously. Trish will hit Stratusfaction on Candice followed by the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
