AEW's Powerhouse Hobbs appeared on KRON Channel 4 in San Francisco this afternoon to promote AEW Collision this Saturday in Oakland.
Hobbbs was asked about his journey in pro wrestling. He said he blames his grandparents for helping him fall in love with it. He began to train in Hayward and grinded for years before being signed by AEW.
He said there are kids out there who wants to be pro wrestlers and he tells them to finish school and get an education just like he did.
He's in the gym 5-6 times a week and they have no off-season. They still perform despite injuries because that's what the fans pay for. You have to have a clear mind because not only is your life on the line, but so is your opponent's.
His worst injury was rupturing his patella tendon and he went to physical therapy three days a week, six hours a day. He was able to come back after 4 months, way sooner than he was originally expected to do so. He had the right people around him and AEW made sure of that.
Hobbs plugged the show in Oakland and said it's going to be a really good show. He says the Bay Area has a different swag compared to everywhere else he's been across the company. He's been chasing Big Bill across the world from Australia to Oakland and he's going to get him tomorrow in a tag team match,
AEW is different from everywhere else and the talents go full blown from the opening match to the main event. He said it's wonderful to be involved in wrestling and he wouldn't change it for anything.
He joked his snarl put him on the map and when he does that, those he are in the ring with know "that's it."
He said he is happy to be home and he's a little nervous about it. He joked he was going to hurt someone tomorrow and it will be a lot fun. He asked the Bay Area to come out and show out, saying it's a Bay Thing tomorrow.
It was a good appearance for Hobbs, who came off very personable and likable. He was a good ambassador for AEW here.
