ROCK, CENA, MSG AND MORE

Love the site as always gents. I'm not here to question the Cena heel turn - some will like it, some won't. I personally liked it even though I predicted Drew. I'm just wondering what the hell Travis Scott added to the segment?  All he did was smoke in the ring and try to look menacing to guys twice his size. No context or foreshadowing for him being out there. I know he's longtime friends with the Rock, but... ugh, I think I just answered my own question. Thoughts?

All he added was name value but TKO is big on bringing in big names from the outside into WWE.  That’s what he adds.  Sometimes we get Bad Bunny good.  Sometimes we get Travis Scott.

So, this stuff with The Rock… seems like he’s just throwing his own “creative” on top of the show without much collaboration with anyone, doesn’t it? In my opinion, it’s so out of synch with everything else that it’s jarring. And it’s taking away from the stories they’ve been laying out. Do you think this is another Board member Dwayne move (like last year’s terrible Cody hand off, which they were able to salvage) or am I missing something?

Rock has full control to do whatever he wants.  And if John Cena wanted to do the heel turn, that just was the cherry on the sundae.  While CM Punk or Seth Rollins, or even Roman Reigns, would have made more sense, Rock can come in and do whatever he wants to do.

I’m a Rock mark, but what happened to this big grand, 3-year consecutive WrestleMania plan of Cody-Roman, Rock-Roman, and Cody-Rock? So the alleged “biggest movie star in the world” can’t black out 2 to 3 months in 2025 and 2026 to finish storylines for a company which he serves on the Board of Directors for? I have Hollywood experience and production companies and studios routinely wait on far lesser bankable stars to become available. By the time Rock gets back in the mix, the moment will have passed. Is the Rock a selfish flake?

I can’t say one way or another.  Is he desperate for attention or does he think he is adding to the aura of the Mania shows? Only he knows for sure.

After the near debacle from Rock trying to bigfoot Cody out of last year's Wrestlemania main event and his sudden insertion into this year's Wrestlemania main event with this bizarre "stealing your soul" storyline, I am starting to think Rock's does not have a high wrestling IQ, despite growing up in the business. Rock appears oblivious to what WWE fans want or thinks he knows better - when it's obvious he doesn't. Are you also getting concerned that the Rock has become a dangerous combination of ego, ignorance, and influence" that he is going to wreck not only WM41, but our faith in WWE creative?

Again I can’t psychoanalyze the guy.  While I don’t like his recent work, others do.  I don’t think he should be injecting himself into the top program either, but the top brass at TKO disagree.  It’s their company,  They will run it as they see fit.

Is the Oba Femi vs Moose match the first time that two African American men will main event in Madison Square Garden? If so is it a big deal? or should it be a big deal in 2025?

NXT is running the MSG Theatre, not MSG proper so it wouldn’t apply.  With that said, in 2025 I would hope we are past those firsts.  If we aren’t, I hope that we are soon.
