AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2025-03-05 22:18:00

t is Wednesday, and AEW Dynamite is held at Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, CA. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Ian Riccaboni.

MJF is in the streets of Sacramento and calls out Adam Page. While Page may have a Buckshot for him, he’s got a bullet for Page.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring for the contract signing between Swerve Strickland and Ricochet. Swerve comes out with Prince Nana and his dance, while Ricochet comes out to a lot of boos. Ricochet doesn’t have his robe and says it is getting some upgrades—everyone will see it on Sunday. Ricochet says Swerve started this by mocking and bullying him. Ricochet says he still beat Swerve despite it all. As Ricochet keeps talking, Swerve repeatedly tells him to sign the contract.

Swerve finally blows up and says he started this to expose Ricochet as a coward and a loser. The biggest mistake Ricochet made was leaving him breathing, and Swerve says that is a mistake he will regret. The contract is signed, and as Swerve turns to leave, Ricochet comes after him with scissors. Swerve grabs his hand and nails Ricochet with his own scissors, busting him open.

We get a promo video announcing that AEW PPVs are now available for purchase on Amazon.

Will Ospreay, Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Bryan Keith, Brian Cage, Mark Davis, and Lance Archer

Davis still seems unwilling to be on Don Callis’ team. Ospreay’s pop is LOUD with this audience. Callis joins commentary.

Cage and Ospreay start, with Cage using power moves to stop Ospreay and work him over in the corner.

Ospreay escapes a powerbomb, hits a hurricanrana, followed by a back suplex.

Briscoe tags in and throws hands at Cage.

Briscoe lands an enzuigiri on Cage and follows with 10 punches in the corner. Ospreay tags in and gets 10 in the corner. Hobbs tags in for 10 in the corner. Cassidy tags in for 1 in the corner.

Cage runs through Cassidy, and they fight in the corner.

Cage gets a stalling vertical suplex and tags in Archer.

Archer nails Cassidy while holding his wrist. Archer lands a spinning slam as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return, Callis attacks Cassidy on the floor while the ref is distracted.

Cage rolls Cassidy back into the ring and puts him in a stalling vertical suplex, then hands him off to Davis, who finishes the suplex.

Keith tags in, and Cassidy is able to reverse the suplex. Davis tags in, but Cassidy hits Stundog Millionaire and makes the hot tag to Hobbs.

Hobbs cleans house and whips his teammates into Davis in the corner.

Cassidy gets an elbow drop on Davis from Hobbs’ shoulders, but Hobbs' cover is broken up by Keith.

Hobbs’ straps come down, but Keith gets a cross chop, followed by Davis landing a powerslam.

Keith hits a series of running kicks, but Hobbs blocks an exploder and runs through Keith.

Ospreay tags in, and it’s time for everyone to get their big moves in.

Briscoe takes out Keith, but Archer runs in with a chair. The ref bails as Briscoe knocks the chair into Archer with a palm strike.

Briscoe uses the chair to launch onto Archer on the floor.

Ospreay hits an Oz Cutter, followed by a Hidden Blade, for the pin and the win on Keith.

Winners: Will Ospreay, Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Powerhouse Hobbs

Davis grabs a sleeper on Ospreay, and the rest of his team beats down Ospreay’s team. Once Ospreay is out cold, Kyle Fletcher storms to the ring. Ospreay is held up by Archer and Cage while Fletcher beats him down, then stomps him into the mat. Davis tries to stop him, but Fletcher starts screaming at him.

Callis forces Davis to hand Fletcher a chair. Fletcher tells Davis to nail Ospreay, and Davis reluctantly does it. Fletcher then smashes Ospreay again with the chair and berates him.

Next up is a video highlighting the feud between Kenny Omega and Konosuke Takeshita ahead of their match at Revolution.

Wheeler Yuta vs. Cope

Yuta is the last Death Rider standing between Cope and Moxley, as Cope has taken out the rest of the team leading up to Revolution.

They immediately go to the corner, where Cope breaks clean. They lock up again, go to the corner, and Cope breaks clean once more. Cope gets a back trip and backs off. Yuta takes Cope down, slams the leg, and backs off. They lock up again and trade armbars. They run the ropes, and Cope lands a clothesline.

They continue running the ropes, and Cope hits a shoulder tackle. They trade two counts. Cope gets a monkey flip, then an arm drag, holding onto the arm. They fight in the corner, and Cope slides to the floor, tripping Yuta so he hits the apron. We go to picture-in-picture.

When we return, Yuta has Cope in a rear chinlock on the mat. Cope works to his feet and fights out with elbows. Yuta gets a right-angle slam for two. Yuta goes to the top, and Cope joins him. Cope lands ten big blows on Yuta’s back, but Yuta fights out of the superplex attempt and lands headbutts. Cope falls, and Yuta hits a diving splash for two.

Cope escapes a cattle mutilation and locks in a crossface.

Yuta rolls back into a two count. Cope lands an Impaler on Yuta and sets up for the spear. Yuta stops the spear with a Psycho Knee, sending Cope to the floor. Yuta rolls Cope back in and covers for two. Yuta locks in cattle mutilation. Cope breaks free and slams Yuta face-first into the mat. Both men struggle to get up.

Yuta goes for the ricochet attack but runs into a spear from Cope, who gets the pin and the win.

Winner: Cope

Cope grabs Yuta’s hand, pulls him up, and says, “This is what respect feels like,” before leaving. Jon Moxley storms through the crowd, enters the ring, and throws a fit. He starts smacking Yuta around, but Yuta keeps getting back in his face and shoves Mox aside as he leaves the ring. Mox follows him and tells him to keep walking.

Mox then says Cope did it—he is all alone at Revolution. He says Cope has brought out the worst in him and rattled his cage, but those bars were there for Cope’s safety. Cope won’t do anything to him at Revolution. He will enjoy beating Cope. Mox says he is the only one who understands that there is no respect in this business.
