1 - Hirooki Goto, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Katsuya Murashima vs. Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima and Daiki Nagai
Nagata forces Murashima to submit to a Nagata Lock.
2 - TJP, Jeff Cobb and Callum Newman vs. Drilla Moloney, Bad Luck Fale and Chase Owens
It was mentioned on commentary that Fale and Owens are a part of Bullet Club War Dogs.
Cobb pins Owens after a Tour of the Islands.
3 - Boltin Oleg, El Phantasmo, Toru Yano and Jado vs. Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, Yota Tsuji and BUSHI
Naito forces Jado to tap out to leg scissors cross kneelock.
Drilla Moloney comes to the ring for English commentary.
4 - Taichi and TAKA Michinoku vs. Gabe Kidd and SANADA
War Dogs come to the ring and Kidd gets a pop from the crowd.
SANADA forces TAKA to tap out to Skull End.
Taichi vs. Gabe Kidd in Round 2 should be awesome.
5 - Shota Umino and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Great O-Khan and Jakob Austin Young
Shota Umino's music plays. Tomohiro Ishii comes out and Umino follows behind him. He does not interact with the crowd. Umino is dressed in a white hoodie. During his ring announcement, Umino reveals that he is totally bald. Umino's demeanor is more serious and emotionless.
Ishii hits a brainbuster on Young and gets the pin.
Umino leaves ringside without engaging anyone.
We shall see how this character change for Umino goes in the future.
New Japan Cup 2025 Round 2:
6 - YOSHI-HASHI vs. Yuya Uemura
Good match. Uemura attacked YOSHI-HASHI's left arm. YOSHI-HASHI focused on Uemura's neck. YOSHI-HASHI went for Karma, but Uemura blocks it, and hits a Deadbolt Suplex, with a bridge.
Uemura pins YOSHI-HASHI.
Yuya Uemura advances to the quarterfinals to face either EVIL or David Finlay.
7 - Ryohei Oiwa vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Another good match. Both wrestled a submission style match. Oiwa went for the Arc Hold, which is a version of the hammer lock submission. ZSJ got to the ropes. They trade strikes. ZSJ hits a Zack Driver. Two count. Oiwa with a Doctor Bomb. Two count. Oiwa goes for an Arc Hold. They trade reversals. Oiwa tries for The Grip, but ZSJ rolls him into a cradle.
ZSJ pins Oiwa.
Zack Sabre Jr. advances to the quarterfinals to face either Taichi or Gabe Kidd.
8 - David Finlay vs. EVIL
The entire House of Torture comes to the ring with EVIL. Gedo and Gabe Kidd comes to the ring with Finlay. Drilla Moloney left the English table to join his War Dogs.
Insane brawl erupts in the ring. Multiple fights spill into the crowd. Everyone brawls to the locker room. EVIL and Finlay beat up each other at ringside. Finlay throws EVIL in the ring and the match officially begins.
They punch and kick each other. Finlay hits the unprotected turnbuckle and EVIL takes advantage. EVIL takes Finlay to the floor and hits Finlay in the face with a chair. EVIL attacks Finlay's left leg. Dick Togo pulls Finlay from the ring. EVIL throws Finlay into the timekeeper's table. Togo sets up a table at ringside. Gedo comes to the ring to neutralize Togo. Finlay throws EVIL in the ring and hits an Irish Curse. Finlay with a release suplex. EVIL escapes to the floor. Finlay spears EVIL through the table.
Finlay hits a Dominator in the ring. Two count. Finlay hammers EVIL with cross face forearms. EVIL tries to poke Finlay in the eyes, but Finlay bites his fingers. Togo hits Finlay in the back with a chair. EVIL applies the Darkness Scorpion. Rope break. They tear at each other's faces. Finlay goes to kick EVIL, but EVIL catches his leg and throws it into the referee's stomach. Referee takes a bump. EVIL hits a low blow on Finlay. Togo goes to throw powder but Gedo stomps him. As they struggle, Togo throws powder into the referee's eyes. Finlay hits a low blow on EVIL.
SANADA comes to the ring. SANADA goes to dropkick EVIL, who moves, and SANADA hits Finlay. SANADA goes to hit EVIL, but he moves again, and SANADA knocks Gedo off the ring apron. EVIL and Togo hit a Magic Killer on Finlay. Two count. EVIL goes for his finisher, but Finlay blocks it and they fight to the floor. The count out begins. Both men fight while the referee counts. Finlay throws EVIL into Togo and jumps in the ring.
EVIL is counted out.
David Finlay moves on to the quarterfinals to face Yuya Uemura.
SANADA is teasing his loyalty between War Dogs and House of Torture.
Finlay gets the mic and says "Bullet Club is mine", "New Japan Cup is mine" and "the IWGP World Title is mine".
David Finlay and Gedo both said Finlay is still the leader of Bullet Club War Dogs. Finlay reiterated the point that he is coming for the IWGP World Title and he was coming for Hirooki Goto. Tomorrow, War Dogs will face House of Torture in an undercard tag team match. Despite the separation of both faction, this war is not yet over and we will see what role SANADA will play in all of this.
