WrestleMania 41: Stone Cold vs The Rock at WM41 could be on the cards

By Kendall Jenkins on 2025-03-20 06:49:00

WrestleMania 41 is one month away and fans are eagerly awaiting to see how professional wrestling’s biggest event will unfold in Las Vegas.

The oldest sport in the world is renowned for producing surprises and the WWE is guaranteed to have something special lined up for their big event.

The most intriguing storyline at the moment is undoubtedly the evolving situation between John Cena, Cody Rhodes and The Rock.

The Rock's surprising morph into the 'Final Boss' has sparked plenty of debate about where things are heading in the WWE at the moment.

With Cena’s heel-turn adding another intriguing layer into proceedings, WrestleMania 41 will have fans worldwide on the edge of their seats.

While Rhodes will head into the event with his babyface status at an all-time high, there is every possibility that could lose the undisputed WWE Championship in April.

However, it is also entirely feasible that Rhodes hangs onto the coveted title after being helped in some way by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

A recent question and answer session with wrestling fans on Fightful Select triggered talk that Austin will interject himself into proceedings at WrestleMania 41.

Although no matches have been pitched to Austin as yet, the legendary brawler is scheduled to be in Vegas during the event for photo opportunities and signing events.

He reportedly had a total knee replacement in December, and should be in decent enough physical shape to tackle some in-ring action if required.

Wrestling fans have been clamouring to see one final showdown between The Rock and Austin, and WrestleMania 41 could be the perfect place to lay the foundations.

Austin performed well against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 and could be capable of a short-term run in the WWE now he has had his knee fixed.

With The Rock guaranteed to be involved in the battle between Rhodes and Cena, throwing Austin into the mix would blow the roof off the Allegiant Stadium.

Several respected pundits have predicted that Rhodes will drop the title next month, handing Cena his 17th run as the champion of the world.

That would not only set things up nicely for SummerSlam, but also create the enticing prospect of Stone Cold and The Rock working more intensely against each other.

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes the company is working towards a something mind-blowing with its main storyline and thinks Rhodes could be dethroned by Cena next month.

In an interview with Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray admitted he was excited to see what the WWE has in store for some of the biggest stars ever to grace professional wrestling.

"I have no problem with that (Rhodes losing the title) because now we'll go to SummerSlam,” Bully Ray said. “Maybe we'll have the rematch at SummerSlam - I have no idea, but I don't have a problem with that.

"I'm going to go back to something I said a long time ago that once again is coming into play - when the characters are right, when the stories are right, and when you're building everything the right way, you can go in any direction you want.

“The groundwork, the foundation - WWE has such a solid foundation right now with these characters that they can build any house that they want. This is the beauty of doing it the right way."
