With Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton off of WrestleMania, is there another match where the build to it has you excited?
Yes, Naomi vs. Jade Cargill. Naomi has been great as a heel and the issues that they have make me want to see the match. I wish there was more of that on the card this year.
Why doesn’t Sami Zayn have a role at WrestleMania?
My guess is that he would have come into play for the Kevin Owens-Randy Orton match but obviously Owens’ injury has changed that scenario. I feel bad for all three men.
Regarding the questions that been asked lately about tribal mentality and calling out AEW fans because that is what you see more of happening. I would like to ask where are you looking? I am a fan of both promotions though I probably watch WWE a little bit more and I definitely see more “pot shots” taken at AEW by WWE fans than vice versa. Not that it doesn’t happen both ways but it seems the WWE fans feel the need to get the pot shots in more than the other way around.
I honestly don’t go out of my way to see hot takes from fans anymore. There is so much garbage on social media that I have to wade through so much dreck to get a decent take, it’s just not worth it anymore. What I do know is that back when I was more engaged, a few months ago, the attacks were generally started by AEW fans making ridiculous and often untrue claims, and WWE putting them in their place. You may see that as potshots. I see it as the people speaking the truth correcting the fabricator. It really doesn’t matter to me though, tribalism is stupid and a waste of time. Like what you like and ignore what you don’t.
Is the Rock inserting himself into mania season(s) as a way to mess with HHH for previous transgressions HHH and HBK did to him back in the day? I know it sounds ridiculous but it is also professional wrestling.
He is a member of the Board and a close friend of the owner. I don’t think Rock is purposely screwing up WWE! Plus, the build to this show is on HHH (even if you take Cody-Cena out of it). HHH is the one who chose this dull path, not Rock.
OK, you don't like the build to Mania so you're not liking what's going on in the WWE, but you also don't like what's going on in AEW either. So, is there anything happening in wrestling right now that you do like and think is worth checking out?
Sure, like I sad above, Naomi and Jade have been great. KO and Randy were too. I am looking forward to Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest. I think Punk-Roman-Seth will be really good, even if I think it should just been Roman vs. Seth. I want to see what Jacob Fatu does, among others. There is good stuff in NXT and TNA. The point here is that when I am not fired up for the biggest stuff, it affects how I see the rest of the show. The last two years the build to Mania has been great so my expectations were high this year. They have not been met and it’s disappointing.
