What is Julius Smokes from ROH fame up to these days?
Smokes lives in the NYC area and still pops up at some independent shows. He was just at Homicide's reunion show. I am pretty surprised AEW has never brought him in since he's a great talker and personality. I've thought he would add a fun new dimension to Shane Taylor Promotions as the Flavor Flav to Taylor's Chuck D.
What's going on with Giulia? Is she actually injured or did they just want to take the title off of her since she's already back working NXT house shows?
We reported what was up in real time as it was happening. She was banged up, but it wasn't a serious injury.
The favor… that was it? How did Punk know at Survivor Series he was gonna wrestle Roman at Mania? I thought Punk wanted to win the Rumble and wrestle Cody for the belt? How was this a part of the plan as far back as October? Please tell me what I am missing, here. Because if Punk wanted to wrestle Cody, I don’t see Paul’s involvement being so clandestine, we had to wait til April to find out.
To me, the favor was that when Punk headlined Wrestlemania, Heyman would be in his corner. The idea is that Heyman couldn't have known it was against Roman but is keeping his word to his friend. The entire idea is to use Heyman as the centerpiece of the story to make everyone guess where his loyalty will truly lie. It's not a bad story.
Wanted to get your thoughts on the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Division?It’s frustrating to see WWE and NXT creatively handcuff their women’s divisions across all three brands with just one set of tag team championships. Even more surprised they haven’t given the current title belts a similar update like the Men’s have gone through. Maybe they should also match the Men’s roster with a second set. I Personally think it’s time for them to consider bringing back the NXT Tag Titles. Nearly two years after unifying the belts, the decision seems like a mistake. Also having Vaquer relinquish the North American Championship—seemingly to free up opportunities for others—only highlights the issue further.
I am told they have a pretty big idea set for the Women's Tag Titles at Mania. I think the more sets of belts you have, the more stories you have to juggle. Given the current creative, I don't think they need more to juggle currently.
How did you feel about Penta taking a pinfall loss on Monday's RAW? Too soon?
He has to lose eventually. If it's to set up a bigger win later on, I don't see an issue with it.
