Former Detroit Red Wing Darren McCarty Acquires Renowned Wrestling School “The House of Truth” in Center Line, Michigan
Four-time Stanley Cup Champion and Detroit Red Wings legend Darren McCarty is stepping into a new kind of ring—this time in the world of professional wrestling. McCarty is proud to announce the acquisition of The House of Truth, the esteemed wrestling school based in Center Line, Michigan.
Founded by veteran wrestling trainer Truth Martini, The House of Truth has long been recognized as a premier training ground for aspiring professional wrestlers, producing top-tier talent seen in promotions around the world. With this acquisition, McCarty aims to build on that legacy and bring a new level of excitement, visibility, and opportunity to the school and the Michigan wrestling scene, and is rebranding the school as Grind Time Wrestling Academy.
“I’ve always had a deep respect for the physicality, showmanship, and heart it takes to succeed in professional wrestling,” said McCarty. “The House of Truth has already built a strong foundation and reputation, and I’m honored to carry that forward while introducing new energy, connections, and passion into the mix. Our goal is to develop hardworking, safe, reliable, respectable athletes, educated in all aspects of professional wrestling, both in and out of the ring. If they can wrestle, that’s a bonus.”
McCarty, who has previously appeared at several wrestling events and is no stranger to entertainment and combat sports, plans to expand the school’s offerings, including enhanced training programs, fan events, and partnerships with regional promotions.
Truth Martini will remain involved with the school in a leadership and training capacity, continuing to lend his expertise and guidance to the next generation of wrestling talent. Joining Truth as co-trainer and head female trainer is Randi West who was Truth’s first female graduate assisted by Rory Shield. The popular Michigan tag team The Pillars, consisting of 3rd generation wrestler Malcolm Monroe III (MM3), and Tommy Vendetta will also bring their knowledge and expertise, as well as long time HOT trainer Nick Maus.
Popular Michigan wrestler Schwartzy is working as General Manager and Head of Office.
