NXT World Champion Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams vs. Je'Von Evans
Dave: You have heard this before, I hate the champ losing in a three way match. Femi wins and he should. Unless, as Mike says below.....
Mike: NO way they should be taking the belt off Femi unless HHH has tapped him to go to the main roster, which seems early to me. This should be a lot of fun and I expect a lot of close near falls with Evans almost getting the belt.
Richard: Taking the 'When in doubt . . . Triple Threat it out" trope to an extreme that is unnatural and may rip the fabric of the WWE Trope existence, we have this match. Trick Williams is a former champ who lost his title and is acting like a child to get another title match (is this his Brutality?). Then we have a challenger who is a rising star but are they ready for a title? Then we have the champion. I am looking forward to the match because it means none of them will be talking. Oba should retain, Trick should move on to the main roster, and Je'Von should be getting experience as he builds a case to be a champion later in the year.
NXT World Champion Stephanie Vaquer vs. Giulia vs. Jaida Parker vs. Jordynne Grace
Dave: You have heard this before, I hate the champ losing in a three way match. Vaquer should win but something should happen to set up her vs. Guilia.
Mike: This should be absolutely great. The right thing would be to have GIULIA win to get her program with Vaquer going.
Richard: WWE decided to up the ante of "When in doubt . . . Triple Threat it out" to make this a four way match with the return of Giulia. We saw the reason why they want the titles in video packages on this week's NXT. I think Stephanie should retain, but I think there are two other options who could win. I think Jaida is a future champion, but that future is at least a few months away. Giulia is the former champion and she is looking for revenge . . . just not in a one-on-one match. Jordynne is a former champion in TNA and should be able to transition into the title with a win. The champion's advantage is gone in this match and I hope it backfires on Stephanie, but I see her retaining. If a World title has to change hands, this is the match it would happen in.
NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom vs. Hank and Tank
Dave: I think the champs should retain here.
Mike: They have teased the issues between Nathan and Axiom enough that sooner or later, it will come to a head, but I don't see Hank and Tank being the team to topple them.
Richard: The trope of Gauntlet matches gave us this match for Stand and Deliver. And WWE couldn't even change the trope from what we saw last Friday with the Women's Tag Team Gauntlet where a team went through the entire gauntlet (instead of the typical, team makes it all the way through but loses the last match in a valiant battle due to a horrific attack before the final segment). Hank and Tank are The Outrunners, but not really. They have been trying to figure out who they are and they just had to win matches. Axiom and Frazer are back on the 'they are breaking up' part of the see saw of breaking up. A fracture in the team is the only way that Frazer and Axiom should lose the match. I would rather see the Hardys be the team to beat Axiom and Frazer. Maybe that happens in the future.
NXT North American Champion Ricky Saints vs. Ethan Page
Dave: This is the one I am really fired up for. I have Saints go over here as he is the fresh blood.
Mike: I expect this to be excellent, but I don't see a championship change this early. I COULD see Page winning the TNA title and bringing it back here after Rebellion next week....
Richard: Ethan Page defeated four men to earn his chance to win back the title he lost against a man from his past. This should be a good match and I don't think it is time to take the belt off Saints. This feud does not end on Saturday, but give Saints some new challengers for the title.
NXT North American Championship Ladder Match (Sol Ruca vs. Zaria vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Izzi Dame vs. Lola Vice vs. Thea Hail)
Dave: It's Roca time!
Mike: They made a super big deal out of Ruca returning, but I tend to think Kelani Jordan will be the victor here.
Richard: While this isn't a Triple Threat match, we still have one of WWE's favorite tropes for NXT. When we need to crown a new champion . . . GET THE LADDER. I still hate the fact that no one has to climb a ladder to qualify for a ladder match. What if someone is afraid of heights? At least we get it out of the way before they are fighting for a title (and why would they want to be in a match where they have to climb a ladder if they are afraid of heights?) We have tag team partners (and the inevitable, one of them is at the top of the ladder and the other pulls them off . . . no we are cool moment), wrestlers looking for an identity (Jordan and Vice), a member of a new faction trying to show their purpose for their group, and the return of Thea Hail. Sol or Jordan seem like the logical picks, but since I have been wondering where she has been, give the title to Thea.
D'Angelo Family vs. Dark State
Dave: Dark State probably goes over here.
Mike: It's way too early for Dark State to lose, so they either win or everyone brawls out of control and the entire thing gets thrown out.
Richard: After their rendezvous in the parking lot of the Performance Center, the battle started by Tony D'Angelo but messed up by Channing Lorenzo moves to Stand and Deliver. I am not sold on the Dion Lennox Experience as a faction, but they might already be better than the D'Angelos (almost by default). Somewhere, the Culling are wondering what they have to do to get on a PPV. Dark State wins because Tony and Channing are not on the same page.
Number One Contender Match for Tag Titles (Meta Four vs. Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley vs. Fatal Influence vs. Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez)
Dave: I will go with Cora and Perez but if Roxanne is heading to the main roster Dolin-Paxley.
Mike: I have to lean on Cora and Roxanne, even though they were literally added as late as possible.
Richard: Does the opportunity to wrestle for the tag titles justify having a match around 9:30 AM? Will Cora and Roxanne be able to co-exist one more time for a chance at tag team gold or will it break down one more time? Is it time for Meta Four to move up to the main roster? Gigi and Tatum continue their tour of title opportunities, but will they succeed? Will Fallon get another chance at gold after losing the North American title? I say Meta Four win because why not. At least we have a match on a Countdown Show.
