4/19 JOEY JANELA'S SPRING BREAK 9 REPORT

Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9 was held at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV on 4/18/2025.

Our commentary team is Dave Prazak and Jordan Castle.

Violence in Forever (Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini) Tag Team Champions vs Alec Price and Jordan Oliver

Alec hits a crossbody off the stage when he is introduced and we do not know who his partner will be. They go to the ring and Price is hitting cross bodies and drop-kicks on both members of the other team. He then hits a blockbuster on Garrini, and when he goes to the top, Ku meets him there and hits a top turnbuckle brainbuster for two. Ku is already busted open.

Price lays in chops at both of his opponents, and they grab Price and give him Chasing the Dragon for two. Garrini grabs the title and tosses them into the ring. We hear Cole Radrick’s music and he comes out on the stage on crutches. He points off-stage and Jordan Oliver comes out. He runs to the ring and cleans house. He is then tagged in and runs wild. 

Oliver gets a swinging neckbreaker and then a boot to the back. He gets a running kick for two. Price gets into the ring and Radrick shoves his crutch in the ring. Price nails Ku and Garrini with the crutch. Price gets a DDT on Ku. Oliver gets a facebuster on Garrini and they cover for the pin and the win.

Winners and NEW GCW Tag Team Champions: Alec Price and Jordan Oliver

Los Desperados (Arez, Gringo Loco & Jack Cartwheel) vs The Wagner Family (Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno Del Mal)

Jake and Del Hijo start the match by locking up and moving to arm bars. Jake gets a cartwheel to reverse the arm bar and El Hijo tries to pin him and Jake pulls himself up and gets a sunset flip and then sweeps the leg for a one fall. They both cartwheel. Arez and Del Mal tosses Arez into the corner and then catches him when he pops out. They run the ropes and Arez tires a shoulder tackle that does no good. They run the ropes and Del Mal takes Arez down.

Arez goes up and over the charge and Arez goes out the back and misses a drop-kick. Del Mal drops on Arez and bounces off.  Gringo tags in as does Doc. They both pose for the crowd. They then have a staredown and slowly lock up and Gringo picks the leg. Doc gets an arm drag and a quick one count. They face off again and Gringo calls for a handshake. El Hijo then tags in and he and Dog hug. 

Gringo and Jake hug as well, but Gringo stays in the ring. El Hijo gets an arm drag and he and Gringo gets quick takedowns before they stop for a sexy dance from Gringo, Doc gives in a quick kick and they run the ropes. Gringo gets a sunset flip and after Doc misses a kick Gringo gets a rollup for two. Doc poses and pulls off his mask.

He teases tossing it to the crowd and this causes the tag team siren to go off and all six men fight in the ring. El Hijo is tagged in and Gringo's team gets a series of attacks on him before Jake gets a standing shooting star press for two, Del Mal breaking it up. Jack and Arez work over Del Mal in the corner and they get a series of attacks on Del Mal and hits a double team suplex and Gringo comes off the top with a split leg moonsault. 

Del Mal is able to take them out as they run at him one by one and El Hoo joins in and they take out Arez and Jake and Doc take out Gringo on the floor with a cannonball for the apron. We finally end up with Jake and El Hijo in the ring and then Del Mal slams El Hijo onto Jake for two. Doc brings in a garbage can lid and hits Jake with it. Jake and Doc trade blows and Doc runs Jake corner to corner. Doc gets a cutter from the top. 

Arez works over Doc and they trade chops in the corner. Arez gets a kick from his back and El Hijo gets a three amigos on Arez. El Hijo gets a frog splash for two. Doc yells at the ref over it. Arez gets a code breaker for two, Broken up by Del Mal. They trade blows and Del Mal gets a Demon Slayer and then Del Mal charges through Arez. Del Mal goes to the top and Gringo joins him there. Gringo gets a Spanish Fly from the top and then Gringo dives onto Del Mal from the ring. El Hijo gets a dive from running the ropes. Arez gets a leaping triangle moonsault onto everyone on the floor.

Doc gets in the ring and Jake gets a series of kicks and Doc takes him down and covers for two. Jake backflips out of a clothesline and gets a rollup for two. Doc gets a big boot and follows with a power bomb. He then rolls up Jake for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Wagner Family

Megan Bayne vs Bozilla

Veda Scott takes Castle’s place on commentary.

Bozilla is a bit bigger than Bayne. They circle each other and then lock up and Bozilla forces Bayne into the corner for a clean break. Bayne gets a side headlock and Bozilla whips her off into the ropes and Bayne’s shoulder tackle does nothing. Bayne calls for Bozilla to try a shoulder tackle and Bozilla runs through Bayne after building up speed. They move to the apron and Bozilla drops Bayne back in the ring. 

Bayne knocks Bozilla to the floor with a pump kick and Bayne follows with a dive. Bozilla is rolled into the ring and scoop slams Bayne. Bozilla gets a second scoop slam and then grabs a butterfly stretch and stomps her down. Bozilla gets another scoop slam for two. Bayne tries for a cross body and Bozilla catches her and hits a fallaway slam. Bozilla gets a bear hug and Bayne’s arm drops twice before firing up. 

Bayne fights free and gets a headbutt. Bayne gets a splash in the corner and then whips her across the sign for another splash. Bayne gets a pump kick and then a drop-kick. Bayne gets a belly to belly suplex for two. Bayne misses a splash and Bozilla gets a splash in the corner and then as Bayne’s legs are around Bozilla’s neck, she slams her over into a face plant slam. Bozilla gets a German suplex, but Bayne gets a diving lariat.

Bayne goes to the top and Bozilla meets her there. They fight on the top and Bozilla gets an avalanche fallaway slam. Both women are down and take time to recover. There is a weird puppet/man in odd makeup/hard to ell interrupting the broadcast for a few seconds. They fight from their knees to their feet. Bayne powers up and hits a flurry of strikes and a running forearm. Bayne goes for the F5 but can’t pull it off. Bozilla gets a power bomb.

Bayne gets a sit out powerbomb and Bozilal gets to her feet. They trade slaps. They clothesline each other and no one moves. Bozilla gets a clothesline and Bayne is dropped. Bozilla hits a series of power bombs for two. Bozilla tries a moonsault from the top and misses. Bayne goes to the top for a cannonball; senton. Bayne gets the F5 and then pulls Bozilla up for a big slap. Bayne then hits a tombstone piledriver for the pin and the win.

Winner: Megan Bayne

Zack Sabre Jr. vs 1 Called Manders

Castle rejoins commentary and Veda bows out

They take time to lock up and when they do, Manders forces Zach to the corner. They break and Manders misses a chop. They lock up with the Greco Roman knuckle lock and Zach is able to spin out and kick away to break. Zach grabs a side headlock and they run the ropes and Zack can’t knock Manders down. Manders gets a shoulder tackle after a big boot from Zack. Zack goes after Manders’s hand.

Manders tosses Zach onto the top rope, and Zack bounces off. Zack gets an uppercut and Manders says to bring it on. Manders drops Zack with an uppercut. They trade blows Zack grabs Manders’s arm and works it over again. Zack kicks Manders back a few times and when Manders asks if that is the best he’s got, Zack kicks him in the face. Zack captures the arm and goes back to work on it. 

Manders rolls out and gets a lariat while on his knees. Both men take time to recover and Zack whips him to the mat and lays in kicks. Manders is up and turns Zack inside out with a clothesline. Zack is pulled up and gets an uppercut. They trade blows and Manders drops Zack with a chop for two. Zack gets in a blow and Manders drops him again with a clothesline for two. Zack gets a kick and then the European Clutch (a leg based rollup) for the pin and the win.

Winner: Zack Sabre Jr. 

They shake hands after the match. 

Atticus Cogar vs Fuego Del Sol - Anything goes, Career vs Mask

They charge at each other when the bell rings and throw hands. Cogar takes them over the top with a suplex. Fuego is run into the ring post and Cogar grabs a chair from under the ring and throws it at Fuego. Cogar pulls out more plunder and threw a brawl through the crowd. Fuego uses the chair on Cogar and then pulls out a door from under the ring. 

Fuego tosses the door at Cogar. Fuego sets up chairs and puts the door on them. By the stage. Cogar attacks with a chair. He adds another chair and door set up next to the first one and they fight on the stage. Cogar attacks Fuego with scissors and starts to cut away Fuego’s mask. Cogar has Fuego’s mask is open at the forehead and we’ve got blood. Cogar uses skewers and then gets an air raid crash from the stage through the doors. 

Fuego is rolled into the ring. Cogar tosses chairs and other plunder into the ring and keeps beating down Fuego. Fuego gets a series of kick and then a double stomp to Cogar’s back. Fuego goes to the top. Cogar gets an insigiri to the top and then tastes the blood of Fuego.

Gross, but expected from GCW.

Fuego gets Cogar in the Tree of Woe and gets a double stomp from the top Otis, Cogar’s brother, hits the ring and gets a swinging slam. Sam Stackhouse hits the ring and gets a spinning kick and takes out Otis. Otis then dives onto Otis and Cogar on the floor. More plunder is tossed into the ring. Cogar beats Fuego with a chair and then sets up a bunch of chairs. They go to the top of the chairs and Fuego gets a sunfire driver through the chairs for two.

Cogar pulls Fuego down when he tries to climb the ropes. Cogar gets a German suplex into an upturned chair for two. Otis and Stackhouse fight on the floor. Cogar drives skewers into Fuego’s head and then hits a big kick for two. Otis nails Stackhouse with a chair every time Fuego kicks out. Cogar bets another slam for two. 

Cogar pulls out a two by four with gusset plates nailed into it. Fuego dodges a strike with the board and gets a backflip DDT for two. We are told there are more than 1500 people at this show. Otis and Stackhouse go into the ring and Cogar is put on a door supported by chairs. Stackhouse gets a moonsault from the second rope onto Otis. Fuego then hits a 630 onto Cogar through the door. 

Cogar is rolled into the ring for two. Fuego grabs skewers himself and slams them into Cogar’s head.  

Again, gross.

Fuego uses the two by four and then they go to the top. Otis gives Cogar a taser, who uses it on Fuego, and then slams Fuego into the trash can for the pin and the win.

Winner: Atticus Cogar

Fuego has to surrender the mask. Fuego calls Stackhouse to untie the mask and Fuego pulls off the mask and gives it to Cogar.  Fuego then removes his boots and leaves them in the ring. 

Minoru Suzuki vs Matt Tremont (GCW Ultra Violent Champion)

They trade blows and Suzuki laughs at Tremont’s blows. The brawl spills onto the floor Tremont is busted open when run into the ring post. They roll back in the ring and Tremont flips the bird, and Suzuki grabs it and works it over. Tremont gets a clothesline for two. He then gets a Death Valley driver for two. Suzuki shoves the ref into Tremont and they return to throwing hands.

Suzuki gets a sleeper and Tremont gets to the ropes. Suzuki slaps the hold back on the ropes and the ref pulls him off. Suzuki hits a Gotch Style piledriver on the ref. The referee crew comes out and they can’t separate Suzuki and Tremont. The fight spills to the floor. Suzuki drags Tremont to the timekeepers table and they attack each other with their titles, but Tremont banks into the back and Suzuki claims victory, but the match is thrown out. 

Winner: Match is thrown out. 

Masha Slamovich (JCW Championship) vs Suzu Suzuki

Veda rejoins commentary. 

They lock up and break quickly and miss a series of kicks. Masha grabs a side headlock and is shot off into the ropes and Suzuki knocks her down. Suzuki gets a pair of running strikes into Masha in the ropes. Masha gets a double stomp on Suzuki when Suzuki charges. Masha gets a series of snap mares and then a big kick for two. 

Masha grabs a Ring of Saturn type hold and Suzuki frees herself with a hair pull. Masha gets a series of short arm clothesline and covers for two. Masha gets kicks and Suzuki fires back with forearms and kicks to the throat. Suzuki gets a rolling spear. They throw forearms and each knocks the other to the ropes. Suzuki gets a snap mare and a kick to the back. Suzuki pulls Masha to the bottom rope and then hits a running kick from the floor. 

Suzuki goes to the top for a missile drop-kick for two. Suzuki frees herself for a waistlock and Masha gets kicks and a cartwheel kick for two. Suzuki gets a stunner and then a series of kicks and a leg based rollup for two. Both kick each other and drop to the mat. 

They roll to opposite corners to pull themselves up and Masha gets a running kick. Suzuki followed with a German suplex. Suzuki gets a headbutt and follows with a Tequila Shot for two. Suzuki gets a bridging German for two. Suzuki goes to the top and Masha power bombs her from the top. Masha gets a running knee strike for two. 

Suzuki gets a backdrop. They both come off the rope with a big move until Masha gets the White Knight Driver for the pin and the win.

Winner and still JCW World Champion: Masha Slamavitch. 

Gabe Kidd vs Mance Warner

Mance pulls out a screwdriver and Kidd blocks it and Kidd stops him and lays in blows and headbutts. Kidd gets a suplex and has the screwdriver. Kidd uses it to loosen the turnbuckle. He then uses it on Warner, who is busted open. Warner calls for more and Kidd goes back to the turnbuckles. They throw hands and Warner drops to the mat. Kidd keeps using the screwdriver on Warner. 

Warner is able to get a low blow and Warner gets to his feet. He goes to the floor and tosses a chair into the ring at Kidd. Another chair is tossed and doors are pulled out. Warner nails Kidd across the back with a chair and then looks for more plunder. More chairs are tossed onto Kidd. Warner finds the screwdriver and nails Kidd in the head with it. Kidd is now busted open as Warner keeps using the screwdriver.

Warner opens a chair and sits in it wanting for Kidd. Kidd does the same across from Warner. They trade blows while seated. Kidd bites Warner and suplexes him onto the chairs that have been set up. Kidd gets a big lariat for two. Kidd then steps up a door in the corner and tries for a pile driver through the door. Warner fights free and launches from a chair into a DDT through the door for two. 

Both men are up and trade shots until Warner gets a clothesline for two. Both men are down and struggle to get up. Warner sets a door onto a chair bridge and stomps on Kidd’s hand until he gets done. Warner slams Kidd’s head into the door and then goes to the top. Kidd leaps over the door and nails Warner. Kidd gets a pile driver from the second rope through the door. 

They throw hands on their knees and work to their feet, speeding up the blows. Warner is able to beat Kidd down and Kidd gets to his feet and gets the final blow and drops onto Warner for the pin and the win.

Winner: Gabe Kidd

Damian 666 vs. Robert Gibson vs. Ricky Morton vs. The Warlord vs. George South vs. Mike Jackson - A Senior Scramble Match

As people are fighting, Kerry Morton comes to the ring with a mic to say all he sees is a bunch of erectile dysfunctions.

Veda has to tap out and MLJ takes over at commentary.

Kerry continues and says he doesn’t have a spot on Spring Break because of the old guys. He then insults each person in the ring and tells them to get out of his ring. Gibson nails Kerry with a chair and then Kerry is in the middle of the ring and takes a blow from each person in the scramble. Jackson actually walks the ropes and is pulled down by Kerr.

Ricky hits a Canadian Destroyer on Kerry. Chairs and a door is set up. Kerry is power bombed through the door and the seniors cover him for the pin.

Winners: All of the Seniors

Sabu vs Joey Janela - No Holds Barred No Rope Barbed Wire Match - Sabu’s final match

Veda rejoins commentary 

It takes a while to set up the ring with barbed wire and remove the ropes. There is plunder all around the ring. We are told the venue was set up for 2100 and it is sold out. 

Janela gets a forearm to the back of Sabu’s head to start the match and Sabu gets a series of strikes and a DDT. Joey is whipped into the barbed wire but stops short. They lock up and Sabu rolls through. Joey whips Sabu into the barbed wire and stops in the wire before hitting it hard. Joey pounds down on Sabu. Sabu gets a short arm clothesline when he gets to his feet. 

Sabu pulls a spike from his boot and nails Joey with it and we hear a whistle. Bill Alfonso is here with a chair. Sabu works over Joey with the spike. Fonzie tosses Sabu the chair and Sabu tosses it at Joey’s head. Sabu launches off the chair and Joey dodges. Sabu goes into the barbed wire ropes and into the barbed wire getting on the floor. 

Sabu’s jacket is torn off by Joey and both men are a bloody mess. Joey sets up a barbed wire board and sends Sabu into it and out of the ring. Atticus Coger and Otis hit the ring and attack Joey and Fonzie is put through a barbed wire board.  The lights go out and when they come back on, we hear Enter Sandman and get the longest entrance in professional wrestling as the Sandman makes his way to the ring.

Joey has skewers driven into his head and the Coger brothers wait for Sandman. When he gets to the ring, cane in hand he stops for the crowd to chant ECDub. Sandman takes out the Cogers with the cane and they go to the back/ Joey attacks Sandman from behind and Joey is tossed through barbed wire doors by Sabu. 

Joey crawls into the ring and Sabu whips Joey into the barbed wire web at ringside. Sabu throws the chair at Joey’s head. Sabu waits as Joey crawls into the ring and they throw hands in the middle of the ring. Joey slides Sabu a chair and they have a chair duel until they throw the chairs at each other. Sabu hugs Joey and Joey nails Sabu. Joey hits Sabu with a chair. Sabu nails Joey with a chair and then hits a DDT onto the chair. 

Sabu continuously nails Joey in the head with a chair before hitting the Arabian Face buster for the pin and the win.

Winner: Sabu

Joey puts over Sabu and gives him the Hall of Fame Plaque from last year. They hug in the middle of the ring and we are out of time.
