Masked Republic's tour dates with the Taco & Tequila Festival circuit exploded this year from 7 events in 2024 to 15 in 2025 including multiple dates in Canada. The full tour schedule was posted on the company's Instagram account.
As we noted yesterday, Masked Republic announced that MaskedMania events set for Atlanta and Charlotte for Cinco de Mayo weekend had been canceled "due to circumstances beyond our control." These events were a joint venture between Masked Republic and UTA and are then sold to a local promoter or venue. It was not Masked Republic's call to cancel the events and in the company's nearly 20 year history, they have never canceled an event. Masked Republic confirmed to PWInsider this afternoon that they hope to be able to run both Atlanta and Charlotte events in the future. UTA is currently in discussions for events in more than a dozen markets throughout the United States, although no additional MaskedMania events are expected to be run before the fall of this year.
Masked Republic will still be extremely busy next week as they still have five events set to take place over Cinco de Mayo weekend. The company's Viva La Lucha brand will run three dates in Southern California in Rancho Cucamonga, West Covina and Garden Grove with all three live show set to be headlined by La Familia Tijuana's Damian 666 & Bestia 666 vs. Solar & Solar Jr.
The company is also teaming with Portland, Oregon-based Prestige Wrestling and Northern California's Pro Wrestling Revolution for two days of lucha libre matches at Portland's huge Cinco de Mayo Festival.
This Friday, Masked Republic's first middle grade novel, La Dinastía Muñoz: Dragon Lee & The Monster of Salty River, will be released. It is already up for pre-order on Barnes & Noble and many other booksellers and will be on Amazon on launch day. The kindle version is already up for pre-order. The series stars real life brothers Dragon Lee, Rush and Dralistico along with their father, luchador El Toro Blanco (now known as Bestia del Ring). The book is bilingual with English on one side of the page and Spanish on the other. The synopsis:

The book is published by Future House Publishing and Masked Republic is working on developing a television version with the Publisher's sister company Future House Studios.
Masked Republic's Legends of Lucha Libre brand recently announced an upcoming wave of figures from Boss Fight Studio of Dragon Lee, Rush and the first ever Dralistico figure. The entire wave is up for pre-order now on the Boss Fight Studio site and other online retailers.
As PWInsider.com reported earlier today, Masked Republic Comics and Massive Publishing will be releasing issue 4 of Vampiro: Rockabilly Apocalypse in comic shops and online on 5/7. There were delays due to the initial Diamond Comics Distribution bankruptcy, which sent shockwaves through the comic book industry. It was announced at San Diego Comic Con 2024 that Trioscope Studios have optioned the series for TV & film development. All four issues are available for can ordered from the Massive Publishing website.
