The Money in the Bank in The Intuit Dome announcement is fun. That was a great place to host Raw, so a PPV should be a lot of fun production-wise.
Logan Paul vs. AJ Styles is next!
Styles got a hero's welcome coming out. He took the fight to Logan. You could see fans heading for restroom.
Paul took some nice bumps during the early portion of the bout. Logan cut him off and nailed a pescado. Paul grabbed and held one of the drone cameras to mug. That's pretty funny. Logan hit a frog splash from the top on Styles. Man,. he certainly gets some air. Styles kept kicking out or grabbing the ropes to escape being pinned. Logan did the Hulk Hogan-ear cupping to play to the crowd, but got booed. Say what you want, but he does a great job getting the crowd invested in what he's doing.
Styles came to life with some shots but was kicked down. Logan nailed a moonsault for a two count. The crowd has been a little quieter for this one. They battled back and forth. Pockets of the crowd chanting or clapping. Styles went for The Styles Clash but Logan escaped. Styles nailed him and went for the Phenomenal Forearm, only to be caught and slammed down. Logan nailed a Lionsault for a near fall.
They battled to the top. Styles ahain went for the Styles Clash but Logan escaped and nailed the Buckshot Lariat for a two count. Styles nailed a Blue Thunder Bomb for another two count. The crowd chanted for Styles. Styles went for a slingshot 450 splash but Paul pulled his knees up. Styles was hit with the Clash but Styles no sold it and hit his own. One of Logan Paul's stooges tried to hit pass knucks but Karrion Kross stopped it. He had words with Styles and tried to give him the knucks. Styles tossed them away and hit Kross. He sailed into the ring but was drilled by Paul and pinned. So, the story is that by doing the right thing, Styles cost himself the match.
This was OK. I expect we'll see Kross vs. Styles out of this.
There is a LOT of time left.
The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match is next.
Man, what a reaction for Liv Morgan. She's really been the VIP for the company over the last year and has been nothing short of sensational.
Lyra had a cool feathered costume but didn't get a massive reaction, although some fans were "wooing" for her.
Becky Lynch returned with an absolutely insane pop. I could see thousands LEAPING to their seat in unision. It was a big moment in the eyes of the audience. We had reported she was expected back with a Mania moment that would get physical and well, here it is.
The crowd was really into Becky, who wanted to go right after Liv, who she lost a steel cage match to in her last WWE appearance. Becky and Raquel started out. Lyra tagged iun and her feathered headress was shedding with every spot. She had control on Raquel but was cut off. The champions worked over Lyra for some time. She almost made the hot tag but Liv pulled Becky down. They faced off and Liv ran for the hills. Becky gave chase into the ring but was kicked down by Raquel. Raquel seemed a little off.
Finally, it came down to Lynch getting her hands on Liv, who did a great job with her facial reactions and selling her ass off for Lynch's offense. Lynch fought off Raquel and nailed a Head & Arms Tazplex on Liv. She went for the Disarmher. Raquel got involved. Lyra went for a dive but Raquel caught her, only to be drilled with a DDT on the floor. Lynch nailed The Manhandle Slam and pinned Liv.
NEW CHAMPS.
This means Becky and Lyra going to NXT Tuesday.
I wasn't a fan of wiping out Liv, since she's had the most momentum of anyone in the women's division in her first faceoff with Lynch in forever but the crowd loved it and the people have spoken. They were happy as hell with this Mania moment.
We got another Mania when Steve Austin drove his 4 wheeler the wrong way (UNDER the RAMP!) and then bumped it into the barricade. Someone get him a driver! He came out and announced tonight attendance as 63,226. I hope he didn't knock a few off the number with his driving!
