Welcome one and all to PWInsider’s ongoing coverage of AEW Revolution. It is Zero Hour. Rene Paquette, RJ City, Jeff Jarrett and Paul Walter Hauser have the hosting duties tonight. They’re going over the line up for the PPV. I love the fact that Rene doesn’t hide the fact that she’s married to Jon Moxley. She says he’s been completely closed off these last few days.
The team is joined by Queen of the Ring actresses, whose mics don’t work. Kamille is not among them.
QT Marshall and the lovely and vivacious Harley Cameron join the panel for a bit.
Zero Hour has Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz calling the action for our first match
Blake Christian & Lee Johnson vs. Hologram & Komander
First and foremost, I’m glad to see these four get a spotlight. These 4 have been spotlighted recently on ROH TV. Basic tag team match to get Crypto Arena fired up. Johnson and Christan have a real jerk-like quality to them, WHICH IS A GOOD THING. Honestly not sure what to make of Hologram and Komanader. I know they’re good but not pushed as well, Komander with a splash to Christian for the pin.
WINNERS: Hologram and Komander
Ash Avildsen (director of Queen of the Ring) plugs the movie with Rene Paquette, As a huge fan of the Karate Kid Part 3 it’s awesome to see Snake’s brother on TV. YOU KNOW IT!
Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty, Carlie Bravo & Shawn Deen vs. Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Kyle O'Reilly & Daniel Garcia
Can anyone please explain to me how Garcia is relegated to this? No offense to anyone here in the match but shouldn’t Garcia have a better profile in AEW? Again, no complaints about these guys getting on the show, I have ALWAYS been a Shane Taylor guy. I think his profile should have been elevated a long time ago. Action is exactly what you’d expect from an ROH 8 man tag. If I were in the audience, I’d be pumped over the action but the cynic in me has to wonder what’s become of the Undisputed Kingdom. We see the Ops watching from a luxury suite above the arena.
I absolutely love Taylor. In my opinion, very few have worked harder than he has over the last 5 years to both get in shape and work on his ring/mic skills. Garcia and Cole seem to have an issue as Garcia had Johnson in the sharpshooter. I guess this is the next TNT Title feud. Johnson taps.
WINNERS DANIEL GARCIA & THE UNDISPUTED KINGDOM
ROH World Championship: Gravity vs. Chris Jericho
For the record, Chris Jericho is not main eventing Zero Hour. Bandido and Bryan Keith are involved early on here. Big Bill is holding Bandido as Jericho unmasks Gravity. Jericho beats down Bandido with Floyd the Bat. The referee throws this one out.
RESULT: NO CONTEST
Gravity’s mother and sister protect Gravity as Jericho puts the boots to Bandido.
MXM Collection & Johnny TV w/ Taya Valkyrie vs. Big Boom AJ, Orange Cassidy & Mark Briscoe w/ Big Justice and The Rizzler
As long as Big Justice doesn’t start opening Pokémon cards, this should be fine. I expect this to be a "greatest hits" type of match. Briscoe and Cassidy are showing good teamwork, being in the same faction. AJ tags in and lands ten punches on TV. Cassidy tags in and scores a two-count. Mason tags in, and wow—he’s big. He and Mansoor double-team Cassidy.
Meanwhile, TV and Taya are making out at ringside as MXM holds Cassidy and forces him to watch. Briscoe tags in, and we get some classic Redneck Kung Fu. Mark Briscoe is so friggin' good. In some alternate universe, someone made him their perennial World Champion. He nails TV with a shotgun dropkick.
AJ and Madden are now legal. AJ cleans house, hitting a powerslam on Madden for a two-count. Harley Cameron runs out to stop Taya’s interference. With the ref distracted, Big Justice delivers a powerbomb to Mansoor. AJ follows up with a PowerBOOM on Mason for the pin.
WINNERS: Big Justice, AJ, Orange Cassidy & Mark Briscoe
After the match, Powerhouse Hobbs, Lance Archer, and Brian Cage come out. Powerhouse chases off the heels.
Next up: AEW Revolution PPV Proper.
It’s Sunday, you know what that means! AEW Revolution is live and on the air. We are wasting ZERO time. Taz, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone have the call.
MJF vs. Hangman Adam Page
It’s a slugfest at the bell! Big boot by Page in the corner, followed by repeated stomps on MJF. MJF counters with an arm twist into the turnbuckles and preens to the crowd. He locks in a rear chinlock, transitioning into a side headlock. Page pops up, but MJF lands a punch for a one-count.
Page fights back with a jawbreaker, but MJF responds with a powerbomb backbreaker for two. (And yes, you read that right—MJF delivers a rather questionable move to the face of Page.) Page fires back with a headbutt, but MJF rakes the eyes. Page hits a fallaway slam but misses his springboard lariat. However, he quickly recovers and nails MJF with a clothesline to the back of the head.
MJF rolls out to avoid the Buckshot Lariat. Hangman takes to the air with a moonsault to the floor, but MJF again evades the Buckshot. Back in the ring, MJF hits an Alabama Slam, followed by a DDT for a near fall. The two trade small package reversals before Page lands the Deadeye for a two-count.
MJF connects with a kneelift, but Page fires back with a Buckshot Lariat out of nowhere! MJF narrowly survives by getting his foot on the rope.
Page spits on MJF, who tumbles to the floor to avoid another Buckshot. MJF sends Page crashing into the steel steps before locking in the Salt of the Earth, transitioning into a Crossface. He then shifts into an armbar, but Page finally reaches the ropes.
The action spills to the floor, and MJF continues targeting the arm. He delivers a brutal tombstone piledriver on a chair—absolutely insane! Dr. Sampson checks on Page, but Hangman refuses to stay down.
Back in the ring, Page counters the Heatseeker and lands another Deadeye. He follows up with Angel’s Wings and then seals the deal with one final Buckshot Lariat for the pinfall victory!
WINNER: Hangman Adam Page
