Welcome to my WrestleMania 41 Night blog.
Before I get into tonight's show, I just want to say that there was a lot of great stuff on NXT earlier today. Go out of your way to watch it. They have so much great talent down there, they really do. Both Title matches were fantastic. I really enjoyed the show.
I have to say, I hate that they took Bayley out of WrestleMania. She deserved to be on the show. I am expecting Becky Lynch will take her spot given her past with Lyra. If they win the belts, I won't be happy with that. I would have to think that I would not be alone there.
Dana White's vignette about Las Vegas was awesome. He is 100 percent correct when he says that The Strip is not in Las Vegas, it's in Paradise.
Jelly Roll did a great job with God Bless America.
After showing the two women, it's pretty clear that the fans prefer Tiffy over Charlotte.
Also, they showed Paul Heyman backstage with CM Punk.
I laughed in the opening video when Rock said you can expect the unexpectable, like him actually showing up on TV I guess.
The show started with Paul Levesque in the ring. He said that for the first time all of the fans are being seen live around the globe for the first time. He thanked us and welcomed us to WrestleMania!

Gunther defends The World Title against Jey Uso.
Here comes Jey. Out came a bunch of guys waving Yeet flags. Then Jey's music hit. The Raiders cheerleaders came out and Use came out of the crowd to a Yeet-A-Thon. Cole and Pat are yeeting. Pat is on the table. They are trying to get Wade to join them. Pat is on the table. Cole is up too. Wade is a stick in the mud.
The stadium is rocking and Jey makes his way to the ring. He did the hand slap with Pat and Cole. Would Wade do it? Yeet!
OK WWE, you need to make up for the damage you did to Jey and let him with the belt here. Get the show off to a hot start.
The champ is out next. Gunther is such a pro. This should be great. Alicia Taylor did her usual great intro and the bell rang. Here we go.
Jey has gotten some shots early but Gunther is largely in charge. The crowd is totally behind Jey and they are chanting for him as the champ works him over.
Jey hit a Spear out of nowhere and got a two count. Gunther is back on the attack, as he should be, but Jey kicked out of a stuff powerbomb. Gunther is dominating but Jey is still in it.
He hit a Rana, a Spear and a Splash, two count only!
Gunther went to the floor and grabbed his belt and acted like he was going to leave. But he was goading Jey into doing a tope. When Jey did he got plastered in the head with the belt. Gunther did a splash and Jey kicked out at two. Gunther locked on the choke and the crowd was chanting Yeet. Jey got to the ropes, but Gunther pulled him away. Jey kept fighting and got the rope. Gunther is yelling at him. The crowd is chanting Let's Go Uso. Jey has to win. He has to.
Gunther is mad and yelling at Jey and punishing him. Jey is laughing and says bring it. He is doing his version of Rocky-Clubber Lang. Jey is hitting occasional shots and getting thumped the rest of the time. Jey is smiling. He is loving the blows. He is firing up. They are laying it in there.
Gunther went for the choke but Jey suplexed him. They sold it and as he got up, the crowd chanted for him. Gunther hit the dropkick but Jey got a suplex. Then a Superkick. And another. And a spear! Up he goes. Boom. He went up for a second. And now a third, on his back. He waited as Gunther got up and he locked on a sleeper and Gunther tapped! Uce won the belt and the crowd is fired up. Well except for the one fan in the hard camera shot shaking his head no. Sorry hardcore, you were outnumbered.
Jey got up on the table, held up the belt, pyro went off and he had his moment. Good for him! When Jey turned around, Big Jim was in the ring and they embraced. It was a cool moment to see and I am sure even cooler for them. He and Jim yeeted to the crowd. They left through the crowd to yeeting of the fans.
This was exactly what it should have been. For every hardcore fan that complains he doesn't do five star matches, there are 10 fans that are happy as hell and don't care about that stuff. The guy they love won the belt. That is a moment for them to always remember!
Rick Rubin, Criss Angel and George Kittle (housing a beer) are in the crowd.
The War Raiders defend the Tag Titles against The New Day.
New Day are out first. They are wearing unicorn jackets that look like they were inspired by Giant Gonzalez! As it turns out, they were! They got into it with Kittle. The announcers said kick their ass Kittle. He actually said I love you guys, go kick some ass. Kittle is a heel! That makes sense since he plays for the 49ers. Just kidding......or am I?
War Raiders are wearing gamer outfits. I have no idea what they represent. I think Pat said Bob Ryder. It sure sounded like that but if not, I got a Ryder mention in my blog. RIP Bob.
Champs were dominating early but then New Day got heat on Erik. Ivar got the hot tag and he got a chant from the fans. The dude moves in ways that littler people can't. He was on his own since Erik is selling.
New Day turned the tide when Kofi grabbed Ivar's legs and then stole the pin. And when I say stole they know it because they grabbed the belts and ran away.
Solid match that had the finish that I think they needed. If New Day lost what was the point of the heel turn? Instead, they embraced it and stole the win. It didn't help them that they had to follow Jey's win either.
