Jon Moxley (AEW World Champion) w. Marina Shafir (to start with) vs Swerve Strickland w/Prince Nana.
They start with mat wrestling and try to lock on submission holds. When they work to their feet, it moves to kicks, stomps, and blows. Swerve uses twisting holds on Mox and when Swerve goes to the top, Mox knocks him down to the floor and the match changes.
Mox then works over Swerve on the mat, Mox isn’t using wrestling holds any more and is just going to punches and strikes. Mox then tosses Swerve to the floor and over the announce table. Excalibur is hit as Swerve is tossed. Mox pounds on Swerve, who is now busted open. Mox keeps beating down Swerve on the floor. Mox gets a paradigm shift on the steel steps.
Mox then beats Swerve down in the ring with Swerve barely putting up any resistance. After Mox bites Swerve again, Swerve starts hitting harder blows. Mox fires back, but the crowd is starting to feel Swerve’s resistance build. Mox is able to grab a kimora wrist lock and Mox tries to transition to an arm bar. Swerve is able to break free, but Mox gets a triangle choke. Swerve is able to pick Mox up and slam him to get out of the hold.
Swerve beats down Mox in the corner and gets a vertical suplex, but is slow to cover for two. Swerve keeps up the pressure, but Mox is able to stop him with a cutter. Mox is able to get a bulldog choke, and Swerve is able to work to his feet to break the hold and gets a flatliner. Swerve hits the house call and pulls himself in the corner as the crowd chants for him.
Swerve recovers from a lariat for another house call and both men are down. Shafir hits the ring with the briefcase. Nana gets into the ring and gets between Shafir and Swerve. Shafir nails Nana with the briefcase. Mox is up and tries for the cutter, but Swerve side steps it and Shafir takes the cutter.
Mox and Swerve trade big moves. While Swerve is down, Mox pulls out a ladder. Swerve is using the steel steps to get up and Mox lays him out of the stairs. He then forces Swerve onto the ladder. They both climb the ladder and Mox preps for a suplex from the top. Swerve fights free and gets the swerve stomp from the top of the ladder through the Spanish Announcer’s Table.
They both slowly struggle to the ring and they throw hands on their knees, and then get to their feet. Mox kicks the knee to drop Swerve and then grabs a chair slid in my Shafir. Mox accidentally nails the ref with the chair.
Swerve gets a vertebreaker and as they are on the mat, Adam Page stomps down to the ring. Page is set for the buckshot, and Yuta, Claudio, and Pac attack Page. Page recovers and hits the ring. He gets a deadeye on Mox and Page is dragged from the ring. Then Hook, Samoa Joe and Shibata hit the ring and drive off the Death Riders.
In the ring, Swerve nails Mox with a chair. Swerve goes to the top and hits the Swerve stomp. Swerve’s leg is too hurt to make the cover and we don't have a referee.
The lights go out and when they come back on, the Young Bucks have Swerve and hit the EVP trigger on him. Mox crawls to the cover and the Referee slowly counts the pin and the win.
Winner and still AEW Champion: Jon Moxley
The Bucks take off through the crowd, Swerve and Page look angry and confused and we are desperately out of time.
