MIKE'S TNA UNBREAKABLE PPV BLOG FROM LAS VEGAS

By Mike Johnson on 2025-04-18 00:51:00

Matt Ten-Hoeves is doing a detailed Play by Play, so I'll be doing more of a blog here now that the show is on the air.

Our opener is Eric Young vs. Zach Wentz vs. JDC in a Internationakl Championship Tournament bout.  The story early on was that Wentz was fighting against the odds as the his opponents decided to team up and work him over.  That worked for awhile until Young realizing Dango wasn't going to really help him win.  There was some solid action in this before Young scored the pinfall.

Young joins AJ Francis in the championship match later on tonight.

Next up is Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin vs. Steve Maclin is second on the show.  On paper, this should be great.  Austin looked really strong early on, including a big flop reverse dive to the floor.  The crowd was all over ripping on The System since they had disrespected the hockey team earlier.  Eddie had control until Maclin drilled him.  Maclin showed some good fire.  Good action.  Ace went for a move where he would flip upside down and while he was on his hands, Maclin speared hm to the floor through the ropes and took out Edwards in the process.  Jeez!  This left Maclin and Eddie battling.  Maclin's chops were echoing off every wall here.  Huge TNA chant after a Maclin superplex on Eddie.  Ace returned at the last second to break up the pinfall.  He went to the top but Alisha crotched him on the top rope.  The crowd HATED that live.  There was a great sequence where Edwards tied up in the buckles, hit an overhead belly to belly on Ace, but left himself hanging and exposed for Maclin to spear.  Alisa went to slap Maclin but hit her husband.  Maclin scored the pin with his double arm DDT variation.  Whew, this was a lot of fun.

So, it's Maclin vs. Francis vs. Young later tonight.

Shawne Merriman joined the announcing team to plug his MMA promotion.

The third bout is X-Division Champion Moose vs. his mystery opponent is next.  This is non-title.  Alisha is back out with Moose.

The mystery challenger is Sidney Akeem, the former Reggie during his WWE run.  He's been wrestling regularly for Game Changer Wrestling.  The bout was Moose hitting big moves but getting frustrated he couldn't put Akeem away.  I don't know the live crowd "got" who Akeem was.  Akeem escaped a powerbomb and kicked Moose, then tossed him over the top.  Akeem hit a plancha, which woke the crowd live up.  Moose still came back to powerbomb him on the apron.  Moose got into it at ringside with the hockey team.  One of the players shoved him.  This distraction allowed Akeem to mount a comeback.  He turned a powerbomb into a rana.  Moose missed a moonsault, allowing Akeem to do a ton of flips into a cutter.  It looked like the finish but Alisha got involved and boy was Vegas upset...at least until Alisha was ejected from the match.

Tim Malcolm from the cast of 90 Day Fiance, who has made his love of pro wrestling well known, is here at the show.

Next up is Hardys & Mike Santana vs. The Nemeths & Mustafa Ali.  The Hardys received, by far, the loudest and craziest reaction of the night thus far.  The crowd was super into screaming DELETE and Matt Hardy was happy to play it up.  Santana was worked over by the antagonists for a bit.   Matt Hardy tagged in and went back and forth with Ali.  The crowd is absolutely having their fun.  The Nemeths worked over Matt.  The crowd was rallying and stomping their feet on the bleachers and clapping.  It felt like 1985 in here for a bit, especially after the referee missed the tag back to Santana and refused to allow it.  Vegas chanted, "Ref you suck."  Hardy finally nailed a Sidewinder on Ali and tagged Jeff, with the place exploding for that and all of his offensive maneuvers.  Santana and Ali both looked super strong here in their work.  Ali retreated with Santana chasing him backstage.  They closed out with all the Hardys' greatest hits, which the live crowd loved the fn' hell out of.  This could have easily main evented tonight and Vegas would have been happy.

Singer Debbie Gibson is sitting in the front row.

They showed Tim from 90 Day Fiance.
