Next up is Kazarian and Tessa Blanchard vs. Masha Slamovich and Joe Hendry. EVERYONE was singing Joe Hendry's theme song. The crowd chanted "We believe." The crowd was super into Hendry holding Kazarian aloft for a delayed vertical suplex. It's been interesting watching this show as a lot of the old tricks from 70s and 80s have worked for heat and getting big reactions. Masha and Tessa had some good sequences. The crowd was just waiting to rip into Tessa and chant at her....and chant they did. Tessa worked over Masha and even knocked Joe off the apron with a forearm strike out of nowhere. Tessa was finally drilled with a rolling kick by Masha. Joe nailed the DVDR on Kaz for a two count. They all brawled. Kazarian went to clothesline Hendry but nailed Tessa by accident. Hendry drilled Kazarian and scored the pin. A good tag team match that made the crowd happy.
Ace Austin introduced Las Vegas' own Chris Bey. The crowd popped huge and chanted "Thank you Bey." He said, "Hello word. I am. I was. I am. I was."...He went into his Chris Bey verbal trademarks. He said 172 days ago, he broke his neck and he paralyzed himself. He said that the truth be told, it was the scariest and most embarassing moment of his life, because he wanted to be able to finish the match and perform for all of the fans, because he loved this so much. Thankfully, the quick response of TNA and the medical staff in support, he was able to have a successful surgery but he was told he had a very low percentage chance of walking again. He said that in that facility, he did Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy every day. He said that as a patient, he wasn't easy but he thanks them for their patience. Ace Austin never left his side and never stopped supporting him. He said when you went through what Bey went through, you need a real brother to do these things. He said that thanks to everyone, he beat the odds. The crowd began singing, "You're Unbreakable." He said that like their World Champion, we believe. He said he's Unbreakable. We are Unbreakable. TNA is Unbreakable. He said this is the greatest story ever told.
The Barbed Wire Massacre match was next. There's barbed wire around the ropes. Doors in the corners. All the stuff one needs for Prom Night. Steph De Lander was with Mance Warner. They slugged ut out. Mance got slammed through a door. Sami pulled out a N64 controller wrapped in barbed wire and used it to blody Mance. Mance had barbed wire wrapped about his mouth and his arm was bloodied as well. He placed a barbed wire door in the corner. Callihan charged but hit the barbed wire door. Mance smashed him with a chair. Sami tried to fight back but was shoved into the barbed wire ropes. Callihan used a barbed wire sphere to rip at Mance. He then went to the groin with the globe. Mance was suplexed onto the barbed wire. Callihan tossed a chair into the ring, as if he didn't have enough implements of mass destruction. Callihan built a contraption but Mance caught him and chokeslammed him through all the chairs and wire and mess. The war of attrition continued. Callihan and Mance battled and brawled and tried to force each other into the wire. Callihan squeeze a lemon into the wounds. Then he pulled out salt. Then a staple gun. He stapled, well, Mance's face. Yes, yes, he did. He stapled a piece of the door to him and then slammed it with a chair, ripping everything out of Mance. Mance cut off Callihan and poured a ton of salt on Callihan's head. The crowd, the kind people they are, chanted to salt the wound. They pulled out screwdrivers and went after each other as the sick SOBs in the crowd chanted for TNA. Callihan did a barbed wire Socko and hit the Cactus Piledriver for the pin. NO truth to the rumor this will be streaming on Disney+.
The main event to crown the first International Champion will take place as soon as they clean up this mess.
Criss Angel was shown in the first row.
Elijah came out to talk up his open challenge at Rebellion next week.and sang a song to kill time as sanitation removed the refuse.
Main event time!
AJ Francis vs. Steve Maclin vs. Eric Young. I think the last few matches burnt out the crowd a bit. The work here was fine. They built to a double superplex on Francis, which elicited a TNA chant. Francis hit a double decker DVDR. He went for a moonsault but everyone rolled out of the way as he crashed and burned. Maclin finally scored the pin. WInner and new champ, Steve Maclin!
