Next up is The Motor City Machine Guns challenging WWE Tag Team Champions DIY in a Best of Three Falls match. I love this match on paper. It''s a nice throwback to the days of the Orient Express vs. The Rockers or Jumping Bomb Angels vs. The Glamour Girls on the Rumble undercards.
Some nice back and forth action early. DIY scored the first fall pretty early when Gargano sent Shelley into a Ciampa high knee for the pin. DIY faked a tag so Shelley never saw Tommaso coming. Smart old school tag team wrasslin'!
DIY worked them over for some time. Sabin was attacked by Ciampa outside the ring. The Guns came back with Skull and Bones and scored the pin, evening it up. Good, solid action. The crowd sounds like they are a little burnt out from the Women's Rumble.
Lots of fun stuff in the third fall. The crowd got more and more into this with the bigger spots and near falls. The Street Profits show up and Angelo Dawkins nailed Sabin with a crutch. DIY scored the pin.
Really thought this was fun. I don't see it happening but I'd love to see them do 60 minute Marathon matches like The Rockers vs. Rougeaus back in the day.
The Street Profits attacked the champs after the match. Hopefully we finally see Montez and Angelo get more of a push going forward. They certainly deserve it.
