CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins with Paul Heyman in Punk's corner.
Seth had the first entrance, using a flamethrower to "burn it down" as the LED screens turned to flames.
Roman was SECOND!? with an entrance that showed the Samoan Dynasty on the screens, paying tribute to the past.
The video package was Punk was OFF THE CHARTS, showing his WWE history. It was hard not to be emotional watching it to be honest.
Punk, in his Mania main event, was played to the ring by Living Colour. Oh Hell yeah. As someone who used to go see this band in CBGB in High School, it never fails to make me happy to see the endurance 'of "Cult of Personality" thanks to the Punk connection.
Punk's entrance was awesome with everyone singing alone. If you know the history and the journey, it's hard not to want to take it all in and smile. I will tell you, I sure as hell did.
Seriously, it's CRAZY to see Punk finally get his main event. Insane how life works.
The bell rings and Vegas chants, "THIS IS AWESOME."
and away we go as they go to war.
Everyone battled.
Roman was taken out by a dive, so Punk and Seth fought into the crowd. Punk grabbed a take home chair and battered Seth. Rollins smashed a trash can over his head. Punk fought back and suplexed Rollins onto a trash can on the floor. They battled back to the ringside area, where Roman dove over the barricade into the crowd to take them both out. Roman set up an announcing table to be destroyed.
Roman took control of the ring but was caught with a Punk neckbreaker as he went for a Superman Punch. Punk drilled Seth with a leg lariat. Punk nailed running knees on each. He took them out with an combination DDT and neckbreaker at the same time. Punk and Seth battled to the top but Roman got under Seth and elevated him on his shoulders, so Punk dove off with a clothesline, hittinf a Doomsdau Device.
Roman drilled Punk with a Superman Punch for a two count. Punk and Roman battled it out. :Punk nailed a series of combination strikes and a Rock Bottom before going for the Anadonda Vise. Rollins crashed down on them with a frog splash from the top, scoring near falls. Rollins now controlled the flow of the action, including a Bucklebomb into the corner. Punk was going for a GTS but Rollins nailed him. Roman went to spear Rollins but was caught with a Pedigree AND a stomp. Rollins removed Punk from the ring and went for the cover but Roman kicked out, leaving Seth's facial language to let you know he was wanting to know what the hell else he needed to do.
Rollins went for a Phoenix Splash but missed. Punk went for a GTS but Roman came charging. Punk left Seth to eat a spear and drilled Roman with a GTS for a close two count. Punk called for the GTS but Seth attacked and scored a two count.
As they recovered, Seth tried to get Roman to work with him on The Shield Bomb. Roman was great here trying to decide what to do before seemingly agreeing. ...and then turning on Seth with a punch to the mouth! Then and only then, did he powerbomb Punk through the table. Then, he powerbombed Seth through the table. He covered Seth who kicked out at 2 and 99/100th. This was GREAT SHIT.
Paul Heyman has not been involved at all, by the way, but you know it;s coming.
Roman used a front facelock choke on Punk, then turned it onto a hanging guillotine choke. Punk turned it into a Northern Lights like supex for a two count and went back to the Vise. Left defenseless, Rollins grabbed Punk's legs and turned him into a Sharpshooter. With Rollins not defenseless, Roman snatched him in the front guillotine choke. Rollins turned it a Northern Liughts. Punk stomped Roman and hit a GTS on Seth for another close two count.
Everyone was out and recovering. Punk went for the GTS but was speared by Roman BUT Seth stomped Roman when he was on the mat. This is insanely good.
Heyman grabbed a chair but for who?
Punk and Roman both looked for it but Heyman handed it to Punk. Punk went to use it but Heyman lowblowed him as Roman looked on with a shocked smile.
Heyman played it up as if he was betrayed the most important person in his life, then presented the chair to Roman.
Roman proceeded to beat the shit out of Punk with the chair.
Heyman directed Roman to hit Seth buyt then LOW BLOWED ROMAN AS WELL.
Seth had his back to all this but then put his hand out for the chair...IT WAS A PLOT ALL ALONG.
Seth nailed Roman with the chair. Hit a stomp and pinned Roman.
CM Punk main events but doesn't win - Seth does.
One hell of a soap opera finish here.
Live, Rollins left wjth Heyman, leaving Punk and Roman beaten and laying in the ring.
After they went off the air, Rollins and Heyman talked some trash from the stage and left.
Roman rolled out, leaning against the apron. He took a long time before exiting. They played his music as he walked up the apron. There were some cheers and light applause.
This left Punk sitting in the middle of the ring, having finally accomplished his Wrestlemania main event dream.
They finally played Punk's theme song. Punk kissed the ring apron. Big round of applause as he returned to his feet and looked around. He limped away, smiling as he exited the ring.
